Some moments from my set at URVB 🎧🚌 I didn’t have much time to plan the day, so I decided to let things unfold naturally. On the way to Wuppertal, I prepared some tracks I’ve been listening to lately. Long trips like this are always enjoyable as they give you space and time to reflect on whatever’s on your mind. In that regard, thank you @uptownrecords.vinylbus for the opportunity! It was a pleasure playing in this format for the first time 🙌 URVB's concept is something our music communities need right now and I am hoping for such initiatives to continue to grow, spread into new areas and among new people, and inspire more organisers and artists alike. It was a special experience playing techno for the first time in my hometown of Sofia. Thank you @asylum.sofia and @gay.parties.sofia for having me, and a big thanks to @zlatanklinchev for the invitation and trust. Here are some snippets from the night on 21.03. I present to you my set recorded at @lyftohbar during the first night of @tempest.sound •link in bio• I have often thought about how to connect literature and music: how to express one through the other. It is complicated to describe sounds in words but perhaps even more challenging to evoke scenes, movement, dialogue by music - to speak what the text dictates or what you perceive of it on recalling. That is how I have come to understand techno music and it's where I am headed. The set is an attempt to explore one of Shakespeare's most visually- and audibly-rich plays through the sound of techno. Moving between different altitudes and depths, fluctuating levels of pressure and light, I imagined entering a brewing storm. Feelings were boiling, and immediate actions were required to prevent danger. Handled quickly and almost blindingly, every moment could turn into a catastrophe. We were thrown in the murky waters of the sea with no way to control the outcome of this fate. Our first instinct was to seek a safer place ashore the nearest land while the forces of an unseen spectacle dragged us in and out of darkness. This is where the rest of the story unfolded as illusions shaped our reality and sound gave it meaning. Every dream is inspired by reality. Sound is our dream. We are such stuff as dreams are made on.

DJ Sesh returns on 17.04 to the basement of Rohrbacher Str. 110. The event series recently turned 2 years and we're taking the occasion to bring the underground atmosphere of the bar back to life. Familiar faces will take over the decks, delivering dancefloor-oriented techno throughout the night. For an immersive experience, we've set up our signature lighting and soundsystem. DISTORTCAST #029 - N-REEF @stefnreef / Stefan known under the artist name n-reef (previously enwreathe), is a techno DJ from Sofia, Bulgaria and a student at Heidelberg University. Music has shaped to a large extent who I am – It first took root in my childhood and adolescence through the piano. My interest for techno developed after my early encounters with various electronic genres such as progressive house and trance, which gradually shaped my taste and curiosity for discovery and experimentation behind the decks. What fascinates me about techno is its potential to remain a powerful tool over time for DJs, artists and crowds alike. It frees, unites, transforms and protects. Techno is resistance. The floor is our arena of expression and clubs are the guardians of our communities. Listening to music raises questions and confronts me, giving me strength to push forward. The set I recorded is a good example of what I like about techno; that is depth, repetition, symbiosis between light and dark, organic and mechanical. When I play at a club space, I feel fully immersed in the mix and aim to convey this state of mind to the crowd by blending sounds that surround the floor and condition hypnosis, movement and pleasure in the individual body. Music is vast; an abyss that expands the deeper you dive in, but through which some light transpires. Er kombiniert voluminöse Kickdrums mit fließenden Klangräumen aus Reverb, scharfen Percussions und subtilen ambienten Elementen. Rohrbar opens its doors for a special February 14th edition in the familiar basement of Rohrbacher Str. 110. Start: 20:00 Free Entry Rohrbar is a student-run bar that provides a space for you to socialize, dance and enjoy yourself on Friday night to the music of local techno DJs. There are cheap drinks, an outdoor Smoking Area at the entrance of the building and indoor Chill Spots. Rohrbar is happy to welcome @jones.hardt for the first time. Jones is a Resident of the Rennbahn event series in Heidelberg. Jones is known for his playful sets, which move energetically between house and techno. Rolling bass and influences from Romanian house/minimal are a feature of his music. Recurring atmospheric sounds or unpredictable storytelling break up the clear structure of the music and let you drift off into thought while dancing. Milotide (@kleinerbrinz ) is ready to channel your senses into a unique blend of ambience, hypnotic grooves and experimental soundscapes. N-Reef will round up the night by layering rhythmical, dream-driven techno, freeing the emotions of each individual heart and connecting them into one moving unity. Rohrbar is really excited to welcome @waltergrob.re for the first time. Walter Grob is resident and founder of the Rennbahn event series in Heidelberg. He uncompromisingly expresses his passion for electronic music with timeless techno interspersed with experimental surprises. Everything is techno when you have the beat under control. @shunja_dj will kick off the evening with 90s-influenced, house-inspired techno, followed by @kleinerbrinz and his unique blend of ambience, hypnotic grooves and experimental soundscapes. The closing spot is secured by @jart_tech - resident of Fractal Friction, from whom we're expecting an energetic groove-dominated finish. This is a charity event dedicated to raising awareness and funds to support the treatment of children with cancer at the Tübingen clinic.
