I feel like it's time I properly introduce myself since I've started designing and making art full-time this year, and for all of the new people who've recently come across my work!
I also wanted to share that I am starting an e-mail newsletter, and I plan to write more of my updates through that channel, and Instagram/FB will remain more of a quick visual portfolio (I am having a hard time with this app). My exhibit @studiokura last month, with all the things I created in the two months I was there for this art residency.
I was able to venture into mixed media and produce some larger pieces than I normally would, and have the bulk of them created non-digitally. As a graphic designer and illustrator, creating work off-screen can feel particularly special.
What an incredible experience it was to create and exhibit with such great artists in a place like Itoshima 🌾🍓✨

I had the great opportunity again to design @equitabletogether ‘s Lunar New Year envelopes for this year, as well as a celebratory design that can be used for a multitude of occasions. Including a nice little gift box for clients 🎁

Dongzhi festival ❄️
Happy New Year! In all the buzz of the holidays, I completely forgot to post this illustration I did for @equitabletogether for the winter solstice. The Dongzhi festival (Dec 21-23) literally celebrates “the arrival of winter”, and the victory of light over darkness. It is customary in Chinese tradition to get together with family to eat tangyuan (湯圓) or balls of glutinous rice, as it represents reunion.
