📷 Meet Steffany Graham - The heart, soul, and creativity behind the lens
Steffany is one of the most gifted and intuitive photographers I know. Today we’re seeing how she plans her set and her lighting preferences for a soft and moody look for model @autumnmehalko
Her genuine spirit creates a space so welcoming, it makes everyone feel at ease in front of her camera, capturing the essence of who they truly are in the most authentic way.
It’s always a pleasure to spend a day with her, witness her process and absorb her knowledge. 😌
Beyond her role as a photographer, Steffany is the Chief Creative Officer of Merakairos Media @merakairosmedia , the visionary Set Director, and co-owner of The MK Lab @themklab .
Looking to update your profile picture?, dreaming up a creative photoshoot? Or In need of some product images for your brand? Steffany’s got you covered. ✨

I’m never 100% certain how everything will work out in a shoot… but that’s the beauty of it.
It’s our adaptive ability as humans to figure it out, pivot, and create something meaningful in the process.
Results coming soon 😮💨 be ready for the drop!

Here are 10 lessons I’ve learned as a professional photographer! I think “Check your camera bag for batteries and sd cards” should have been up there, now that I think of it 🥲.
I’ve shot professionally for 10 years and have learned quite a bit. Whether it’s game from others or of my own experiences on the job, I’ve narrowed my top 10 lessons to help you in your photography journey.

My simple shooting checklist for portraits is about staying present, not perfect: focus, intentional lighting, honest expression and movement, real-time feedback, then make the adjustment. My goal isn’t taking more photos—it’s taking intentional ones that are genuine and authentic.

The setup is where the creativity happens and the shot captures it. Train your eye before you train your camera… I promise you, it’s a game changer.
If you’re early in your photography, don’t rush the shot. The more intentional your setup, the less fixing you’ll need later.
Follow @steffanygraham if you’re a beginner photographer looking to sharpen your eye and enhance the dynamics of your photos with lighting strategies!
And just like that, it’s been 10 years. Well I can tell you, I had the craziest dip brows, that’s for sure.
2016 was the year of self-discovery and spiraling. I remember knowing what I wanted but didn’t have the tools under my belt to know how to execute them… so I just did my best. I had pushed through many internal ceilings.
In that year, I…
…turned 21.
…started working out a lot.
…lost my Honda Prelude “Luda” and got a Scion TC.
…dropped out of college
…started a media program where I learned multimedia design.
…broke up with my ex boyfriend.
…was being slandered on the internet.
…lost friends.
…gained friends.
…entered a new relationship with my now husband.
…began partying a lot.
…started drinking heavily to escape my feelings.
…leaned a lot on my family.
…started trying new things.
…continued to grow my photography business.
…would edit until crack hours at Denny’s.
…would be a part of others’ creative projects.
…was depressed and lonely.
…was trying.
In 2016, I was doing my best.
If I could go back and meet 21 year old Steff, I would tell her “Wow, I love you. You are doing wonderful… this was a tough year full of change and you need to give yourself some grace… I know you aren’t where you want to be but I also know you don’t know how to get there. You’re looking for love, joy, and peace. God is 1 turn away, He’s waiting for you.”
So cheers to 2016 Steff 🤗 I’m proud she kept going because she really didn’t want to… but because she did, I found God again and He blessed me with so much more than I thought I’d have. 🤍
