I could not have dreamed this if I’d tried. It was always supposed to about them, but they somehow managed to make it about us…all of us, together, in this magical place. Congratulations my loves @vanessa.skaggs @jerohmyah , may you always feel this love and this loved 🤍✨. xo

Our old girl started a brand new chapter this summer. ✨ . I’d anticipated that when this project was complete I would have anecdotes and horror stories, but instead, I have a whole lot of heartfelt emotion about this renovation.  .  We walked into this open house on the hottest day of 2022’s summer and after a short look around, it strangely felt like home. A tour of the backyard revealed avocados, guava and mamey. It was lush and wild and made perfect sense alongside extremely *resourceful* electrical wiring and beautifully maintained original hardwood floors. She was old and yet, so obviously cared for and I suppose I loved her so much the universe conspired us to be the lucky bidders in a notoriously unlucky market. That is the short story of how a little house in Inglewood chose a Cuban girl to follow the Cuban family who had previously called this home for 40+ years. 🇨🇺 . Filing this experience under “things that take a village” and while none of this village has Instagram, word of mouth is everything in every business, so I’m going to give them their Instaflowers. 💐 . Huge thanks to Neil Wilson / @dezignblue for bearing 8 layout iterations and crunching the math on building the entire space around very specific appliance dimensions… and to Roman Putrov at Brentwood Electrical who managed to rewire our entire house to code around people and furniture and madness. But the real MVP was our contractor Kevin S. Jones, 1LT, USA, Ret. - who took an 8-week timeline and put a bow on it in 4.5. He was the contractor of these two producer’s dreams. We are still in awe. So many good things happened because of the energy this man brought into our home.🖤 (@kylerhyman / @laurenfejarang & @jonjonaye for the recos) .  Shout out to @schaldey , our marriage’s “house producer” who makes the numbers work and then blindly trusts me to make aesthetic decisions that I barely trust myself to make. I’m grateful for moments I can be a creative.  . The future could hold bigger houses, but in this moment I can’t imagine I could ever love them more. My heart explodes. ♥️💣 signed,  a girl excited for many good meals to come

It’s 1997. I’m 12 years old with a passion for only 2 things - the highs and lows of sports and the Backstreet Boys (naturally). My Florida Marlins are in the World Series and I am invested far beyond measure, ultra consumed, addicted to the emotional rollercoaster we all ride when we love a team and even more so when we’re doing it with the innocence of childhood. We beat Cleveland in the 11th inning. 1997 World Series Champs. I still choke up when Liván Hernández’s “I love you, Miami” surfaces in my memories. The date was October 26th. On November 11th, Wayne Huizenga moved to dismantle the team. Cue my memory’s first real sports related heartbreak.💔 It’s 2003. I’m 18 years old with a passion for only 4 things - food, my friends, my fake ID and the highs and lows of everything related to Miami’s sports teams. And, by this age it’s no secret that I’m a love-hard kind of girl and sports is no exception. October rolls around and I have exams, but my Florida Marlins are in the World Series and I am invested far beyond measure, ultra consumed, still addicted to the emotional rollercoaster we all ride when we love a team and even more so when we’re in college and doing it with a fake ID and an ice cold beer🍻. We win. Specifically we, the wild card team, beat the fucking New York Yankees on the 100th anniversary of the World Series IN NEW YORK. Peak high. Highest of highs. ✨ Cue the fire sale that followed.🖕🏼 Cue my breakup with baseball. ⛓️‍💥 It’s 2024. I’m 39 years old with a passion for so many things, one of which is the place I’ve been grateful to call home for the past 10 years - LA...and still the highs and lows of everything related to sports. The Dodgers are in the World Series and suddenly I am 12 years old all over again. We win. Specifically, we beat the fucking New York Yankees IN NEW YORK. I am 18 years old all over again. Ohhhh, the nostalgia of a peak high. 👌🏽😮‍💨 Cue my baseball relapse. 🫶💙 . . Happy World Series 🧢⚾️ Happy 10-year LA-versarry 🥹 Happy Halloween 🎃 Love, A 2024 Halloween Dodger Dog 🌭💁🏻‍♀️ . . . . . #worldseries #dodgers #halloween #losangeles #ladodgers

. We saw London 🇬🇧 We saw France 🇫🇷 In between we wore no pants 👙 When I was a kid I’d spend hours in Barnes & Noble scouring the aisles for whatever genre I was obsessing over at the time and no matter the age or current interest, the images on back of the the sealed travel calendars always made the cut. I’d gasp at the sparkling waters in all their unique and equally beautiful shades of blue and tell myself “one day”. And, while I’ve been lucky enough to have laid eyes on some stunning sights over the years, I’m not too cool to say these waters were absolutely a “one day”. ✨ I loved Malta’s turquoise and Sicily’s deep blue almost as much as the humans I got to see it with. 🥲 We bookended with a buzzy London at the front and put a bow on it all in the city that feels the most like home in preparation of actually coming home 🥐🇫🇷. Back with the necessary reminder that people and places will surprise you if you let them. 🤍

June! Baja Catch & Grill obsession begins (one of the only places on the west side to get a fish taco and a beer in a casual environment). Cutest niece hangs. Important Gemini birthdays. Seafood crawls. Backyard Finny hangs and kitchen demo sends us cooking in our backyard for an indefinite number of weeks. The sun is out. The house is chaos. Life is good. ☀️
