NO TRENDING AUDIO - JUST PURE VIBES & TRUST
Caitlin decided to change her hairstyle from trial to wedding day. When she eventually sat in my chair, I had a clear idea of what I wanted to do with her makeup to compliment the change, as it was nothing like what we trialled!
I really hoped Caitlin would give me the green light to just go for it… but she did more than that! She encouraged me and hyped me up to give her a glam that exceeded all expectations!
This Bride not only trusted me, but she validated my style of art! That is priceless!

LAYERING + LONGEVITY 🤝 (for oily/combo skin types).
Every skin requires a different approach (product wise), but I’ve shared my tried and tested technique for oily/combo skin.
The power play is in the setting method, and making sure each element is undetectable into the next. Only the best results are achieved by taking your time, and really pushing the products into the skin.

TRUST - THAT’S WHEN WE DO OUR BEST WORK!
We know when our client doesn’t have that confidence in us. This is usually shown in the way of;
▫️Micro managing - giving direction the whole way through and not allowing the Artist to showcase their capabilities.
▫️Holding the mirror - it shows us that you need to be reassured throughout each stage. I honestly don’t mind if my clients hold a mirror, but it just adds the pressure sometimes.
▫️Saying “it’s fine” at the end of the application! Fine is not what we want to hear - so speak up and tell us how we can make it better!
My ideal client is someone who knows that they want, but is happy to be guided by me - just like my beautiful Bride in this video!🥰

IT’S ALL IN THE ANGLES…
Creating balance to a face isn’t just about analysing the shape itself - it’s about alignment. Every angle should move in the same direction to lift - eyeshadow, wing, blush and contour!
If your wing angles up, but your cheek contour aims downward beyond the mouth corner, this not only drags the face down - it creates confusion (particularly to a trained eye). The face needs directional flow. It needs each element to flow into one another on a parallel level.
Directional Harmony and alignment with correct product placement can take your makeup finishes to that next level. Start looking at your canvas with a more technical eye. Think about what you’re trying to achieve and why! It makes all the difference when all elements are balanced!
Who’s going to start looking at their work in a more directional viewpoint now? 🙋🏻♀️

SMILE LINES!
Many of us have them - and it can be a huge battle to prevent makeup from settling in the creases around the mouth area. Whilst there isn’t an actual crease-free solution, I’ve tried and tested many different techniques to minimise creasing! I’m definitely onto something!
1. SKIN PREP
Your makeup will sit so much better if you are doing regular skincare. Hydration is key! This must be done before your makeup, but ideally you’d see best results with a morning/evening routine.
2. EYE CREAM
If you’re not using an eye cream, may this be your reminder to start! But what i highly recommend doing is taking that eye cream into your smile lines every time you apply. A line smoothing eye cream is perfect for this step.
3. MAKEUP
Avoid putting makeup directly over any creases. Instead, carefully press the product around the lines. At the very least, do the lightest of light application if you absolutely have to.
4. EXCESS PRODUCT
Before setting the area, grab a clean pointed blending brush and run it gently through any creases. This will remove excess product and prevent cakey build up.
5. SET (powder)
Use the most finest milled powder to sparingly set the area. You can press the powder through, but this step must be done with very minimal powder.
6. SET (spray)
The final step is to use a setting spray to complete the set process. I like to spray my brush and press it through the area whilst the client stretches out their mouth. This will help melt the product into the skin.
If you try this method, let me know how you go! Just remember though, creases are a natural part of movement on the face. They will never fully disappear!

If this were the glam look requested for the rest of my artist years, I would not be mad…. This is my art form to a tee!🙌🏼
