Cuando hablo del pasado nunca lo hago pensando que “antes era mejor”.
Amo este presente, amo hacer lo que hago hoy. Y nunca haré retórica, porque no me pertenece. Pero hubo momentos que cambiaron completamente nuestra forma de vivir la música.
Uno de ellos fue el paso del vinilo al CD.
No sé cuántos de vosotros recordáis los primeros CDJ, los primeros reproductores. Para nosotros fue algo increíble.
No cambió solamente el soporte: cambió completamente la manera de vivir y tocar la música.
Con los vinilos —que, como sabéis, he amado y sigo amando muchísimo— tenías una selección limitada para llevar contigo. Con lo digital, de repente, la música se volvió prácticamente infinita.
Ese fue el verdadero cambio.
Una transformación enorme que marcó a toda una generación de DJs.
Y junto al entusiasmo… también llegaron las primeras críticas.
Pero eso os lo cuento el lunes. 🎶

When I talk about the past, I never do it thinking that “things were better before.”
I love the present, and I love what I do today. And I will never be rhetorical, because that’s just not who I am. But there were moments that completely changed the way we experienced music.
One of them was the transition from vinyl to CD.
I don’t know how many of you remember the first CDJs, the first players. For us, it was something incredible.
It wasn’t just the format that changed: it completely transformed the way we lived and played music.
With vinyl —which, as you know, I loved and still love deeply— you could only carry a limited selection with you. With digital, suddenly, music became practically endless.
That was the real change.
A huge transformation that marked an entire generation of DJs.
And along with the excitement… the first criticisms also arrived.
But I’ll tell you about that on Monday. 🎶
Every night tells a different story.
Different cities, different faces, but the same energy.
No fake hype.
No trends.
Just music, the dancefloor, and real connection.
Still searching for emotions through music.
Still believing in club culture.

Ser DJ antes significaba realmente ser DJ.
No bastaba con tener una imagen, había que tener una identidad musical.
Era un trabajo hecho de estudio, investigación y obsesión por los detalles.
Horas y horas escuchando música, buscando vinilos, descubriendo temas desconocidos y construyendo sets únicos, originales y diferentes.
Cada sesión tenía un objetivo: encontrar el sonido perfecto, crear un viaje y dejar algo auténtico en la pista.
Era un trabajo duro, exigente, hecho de sacrificio y dedicación.
Hoy, con la llegada de la tecnología, algo ha cambiado.
Todo es más rápido, más fácil, más inmediato.
Pero quizás muchos DJs pasan más tiempo frente al espejo que escuchando música.
Y es precisamente ahí donde debería empezar todo: en los auriculares, en la búsqueda, en la cultura musical y en la pasión por descubrir nuevos sonidos.
Porque un DJ no es solo lo que muestra.
Es, sobre todo, lo que hace sentir y escuchar.

Being a DJ once truly meant being a DJ.
It wasn’t enough to have an image — you needed a real musical identity.
It was a job built on study, research, and obsession with every detail.
Hours and hours spent listening to music, digging for records, discovering unknown tracks, and crafting sets that were unique, original, and different from everyone else’s.
Every set had a purpose: finding the perfect sound, creating a journey, and leaving something real on the dancefloor.
It was hard work. Demanding. Built on sacrifice and dedication.
Today, with the rise of technology, something has changed.
Everything is faster, easier, more immediate.
But maybe too many DJs spend more time in front of the mirror than listening to music.
And that’s exactly where everything should begin: in the headphones, in the research, in musical culture, and in the hunger to discover new sounds.
Because a DJ is not only what people see.
A DJ is, above all, what people feel and hear.

Quizás no todos saben que mi amor por la música nació cuando todavía era un chico.
Trabajaba en una tienda de discos y todavía hoy recuerdo perfectamente el olor de los vinilos recién llegados, el sonido de las cajas al abrirse y la emoción de descubrir música nueva cada día.
Después llegó la radio.
Las radios nacionales no transmitían música dance… la única manera de escucharla era a través de las radios locales, las llamadas radios libres. Pequeñas realidades nacidas de la verdadera pasión.
Yo trabajaba allí gratis.
No ganaba dinero y, para poder poner la música que amaba, tenía que llevar mis propios vinilos desde casa.
Pero para mí no era un sacrificio.
Era felicidad pura.
Nunca habría imaginado que todo comenzaría justamente desde allí.

Who is DJ Stefano Noferini?🎶
Maybe not everyone knows that my love for music started when I was just a young boy.
I worked in a record store, and even today I still remember the smell of freshly arrived vinyl records, the sound of opening the boxes, and the excitement of discovering new music every single day.
Then came the radio.
National radio stations didn’t play dance music back then… the only way to hear it was through local radio stations, the so-called free radios. Small places built on pure passion.
I worked there for free.
I wasn’t getting paid, and to play the music I loved, I had to bring my own vinyl records from home.
But to me, it never felt like a sacrifice.
It was pure happiness.
I could have never imagined that everything would start right there.
“Auténtico” ha sido durante años un hashtag que habéis visto muchas veces en mis posts y en mis historias. Ahora se convierte en un espacio para compartir.
Será el relato de todo lo que ha pasado en mis treinta años de historia en la música. Hablaré de música, de sus raíces y de cuando empezamos: la primera generación de DJs que no usaba el pitch control. Los primeros tocadiscos con los que mezclábamos no tenían control de velocidad, todo era manual. Las revoluciones de los vinilos se aumentaban o se reducían intentando encontrar el tiempo con los dedos. Era mucho más difícil que hoy, pero quizá precisamente por eso todo era más auténtico.
Hablaré de experiencias vividas, cambios, encuentros y momentos que marcaron una época.
Será un espacio sincero, sin filtros. A veces ligero, a veces incómodo, porque la verdad y la autenticidad muchas veces lo son.
“Auténtico” nace así: como un relato personal, musical y humano. Un valor que conservaré en cada publicación de este espacio.

“Authentic” has been a hashtag you’ve often seen in my posts and stories over the years. Now it becomes a space for sharing.
It will be the story of everything that has happened throughout my thirty years in music. I’ll talk about music, its roots, and about how we started: the first generation of DJs who didn’t use pitch control. The first turntables we mixed on had no speed control — everything was manual. Vinyl speeds were increased or reduced by hand, trying to find the beat with our fingers. It was much more difficult than it is today, but maybe that’s exactly why it all felt more authentic.
I’ll talk about lived experiences, changes, encounters, and moments that defined an era.
This will be an honest space, without filters. Sometimes light, sometimes uncomfortable, because truth and authenticity often are.
“Authentic” is born this way: as a personal, musical, and human story. A value I will preserve in every post shared in this space.
