Meet the fam! Colin is loyal and true. Our kids are 11, 10 and 8. Palmer notices everything. Harvey experiences everything. Eve feels everything 🤍 All things from Him and through Him and for Him. Romans 11:36 This family, this career, this home, our community: all of it from the hand of a good father. I couldn’t be more grateful. I hope you and yours had a great Thanksgiving! We sure did. 📷: @thesampsonhouse

Last year, around this time, I picked a word meant to be my word of the year but instead, it’s become the main intention of my business. The word is honor and although I enjoy the fun, the passion, the satisfaction in design, my deepest desire is to honor the people I work for and with, design itself, my family at home, and most of all, the Lord. I’ve prayed this verse in Romans over projects and processes over and over again since then. It’s “from him, and through him and to him are all things” and I ask God to do this fun hard thing with me. Because everything’s better when He’s in the room. Happy weekend, pals 🤍

“I trust you” Words my client, Karmen, said on repeat. Music to a designer’s ears. I’m so honored this sweet family let me design their home 🤍 Here are just a few photos but we left no room untouched, so I can’t wait to share more. It’s full of playful patterns, classic materials and interesting forms.

Eight looks at a favorite Reno. We used deep Mediterranean blue as our neutral base color here and repeated it throughout the home. What a joy to unleash this home and family’s vibrant personality through design. Stay tuned tuned as we plug in those all important finishing touches ✨

I heard someone say recently “the first thing we learn about God is that he’s creative.” She was talking about Genesis, and this time of year— spring in South Dakota— that tracks. All this beauty and green coming from something that looked so very dead two weeks ago. Wild. I’ve been spring fevering and pruning my climbing roses, all the joy and pain in one. Let me know if you have a chainmail garden gloves source. *Above and Beyond Climbing Rose—10/10 recommend

Hand painted mural on a metallic pieced background. Something so special about works crafted by hands instead of machines. This wallpaper has my heart. Also a moment for the frame detail 👏🏻 *installed by the talented @nicholspaintingco

Kicking off our Designer Spotlight series with Christy Steen of @steenstudio . For Christy, design goes beyond how a space looks—it’s about how it moves, grounds, and resonates. In this project, bold materiality meets calm intention: limewash walls, sculptural form, and Bedrosians’ Cloe tile creating depth, contrast, and a sense of arrival. A study in balance—where softness meets structure, and every detail is meant to be felt. Explore the full story on the blog.

39 and life is so sweet. Celebrated my birthday last week with a date night with Colin, and my sisters brought coffee, went for a walk and helped clean my office (samples galore). It’s goofy the things that fill my cup at this age. God’s kindness to me is the kind of friends, clients, and family I get to call my own. I truly am surrounded by the very best and will never get over it 🤍

Starting to believe we’re collectively underusing pink tile. Over the moon on how this prettiest girl’s bath is taking shape ✨ Happy Valentines pals!

Here’s how I study this space as a designer: I see repetition in color (think brass=rug tone, mantel=coffee table=roses), the juxto of hard angles (dentil molding, Greek key) against sculptural curves (Ming table, brass basket). I look at the balance in scale, the variety in texture, the harmony of materials, the interest in pattern. My countertop guy this week described me as “intense” and I laughed and thought that was wild. But after writing out what literally goes through my mind when evaluating a space, maybe intense is right 🙈 Whatever, cheers to intensely loving your craft.
