The biggest hurdle to shooting this project was skiing, I don’t, I did when I was 15 with school but not since then (now learning, I got the ski bug:-). Snow shoes and alot of hiking ensued. Ally’s knowledge of the terrain was essential to my positioning for each shot.

‘I’ve been climbing for several years now in the Alps or in Himalaya. For the opening of Aiguille du Midi gondola we decided to go up on the glacier and climb an easy gully to assess and see the ice conditions of steep routes in the Mont Blanc area for upcoming bigger missions. Climbing gullies has always been one of the best things i like in life. I always think sharing time with the mountains, teaches you how to be humble and put you face to face with yourself. This particular day we climbed the well known goulotte Chéré on Mont Blanc du Tacul. It’s a 3 pitches 85° climb on ice with an easy access. Perfect when you just want to enjoy a day out without engaging too much’.
