This is where the act begins. In the ashes and alive.
I’ve decided to share little pieces of this story over the next while, this moment I dreamed up in the bathtub one morning… I was sitting with the familiar feeling of grief in my chest, and as I listened to my body-mind-soul speak this vision began to come through so clearly… the Phoenix… she needed to come out and tell us her story… and here she is.. alive 🥹

Some of my favorite places to visit when I come home are the old cemeteries. Walking past the knee-high chiseled memorials set by someone’s loved ones as far back as the 1700’s. It used to be a joke that you could throw a rock in any direction and hit a Headstone. Hard not to think about death when you grow up surrounded by all these small town cemeteries. My family once found out about an old cemetery down off an off-road trail that had my grandmother’s last name on one of the headstones. A huge group of us made the trip to the old small cemetery in the middle of the woods. It had been forgotten about. At a small intersection between two off-road trails about 2 or 3 miles in the woods. But there it was. And even though Moss had taken over a lot of it, you could still make out the last name.

It is terrifying going outside in the dark by yourself when the wind is blowing and creaking every tree in the forest of New Hampshire. Ultimately worth it but GOOD LORD I scared the bejesus out of myself taking this.
