Happy New Year, my friends. I have a little announcement to make: Steady Waves Center will be closing in February. Over the past 2.5 years I’ve been fortunate enough to realise a big dream of mine: to provide a physical space for my community ( and beyond! ) to walk in and learn about all things end of life, death, and grieving. Many beautiful souls have graced this space and laid down in my
@wovenfarewellcoffins willow coffin. I’ve had more deep, life-affirming conversations within these walls than I can count, and have hosted some truly special events and workshops. Like everything, this chapter too, must end— but with endings come beginnings.
I’ve been working full-time planning funerals with a most wonderful company in the UK called Aura,
@aura_celebrate_life , and creating new life within myself as well ( yes, a baby ).
Maybe some day there will be a different physical iteration of Steady Waves, but I hope that I’ve been able to inspire a few others to think about creating similar spaces in their communities— I’d love to see one in every village, town, and city someday! I’ll still be hosting living funerals , workshops, information sessions and training others - and I will always, always, always prioritize serving the dying. Thank you for being here with me, and for all of the support you’ve offered. It’s not lost on me how absolutely magical this community we’re building is— I feel very grateful.
Lots of love, E
