āHey @losev_fit here is that signature chocolate protein omelet I told you about! š³š« Full macros in the caption. Let me know what you think!ā
MAN VS. RESISTANCE
I promised you a leg day breakdown, and here is part one. No excuses, just pure tension. Today is a high-carb day (250g+), so the energy is through the roof and the pump is real.
1ļøā£ Banded Hack Squat
I donāt use bands to make it easier. I use them to make it a hell of a fight.
⢠The Goal: Constant tension.
⢠The Challenge: Fighting the resistance at the top. The higher I go, the heavier it gets.
⢠Pro Tip: Keep knees soft at the top. DONāT LOCK OUT. Save your joints, keep the load on the quads.
2ļøā£ Zercher Good Mornings
As a cinematographer, my back is my bread and butter. Holding the weight in the crooks of my elbows builds that āSteel Coreā you need for long shifts with the Steadicam or Artemis 2.
⢠The Focus: Massive posterior chain load.
⢠The Key: Hips back, controlled eccentric, and a solid spine.
Leg day isnāt just about aesthetics; itās about building a functional machine that can handle 12-hour shifts on set.

Light weight, lethal pump. š§Ø
Hardest bicep variation Iāve done. Full stretch, elbows out, zero momentum.
My biceps literally exploded after this set. Donāt sleep on the fundamentals.
As a Steadicam operator, every muscle in the arm matters. This incline variation hits the long head of the bicep like nothing else. Focused on that deep stretch and controlled path. Itās painful, but itās worth it.
STAY DISCIPLINED.
HOW I GOT SHUT DOWN BY DARREN ARONOFSKY. š¤¦āāļø
Swipe to the picture. Thatās me, waiting in line at 11 PM after a crazy day. I was on a highāweād just sold out a huge batch of Batch #001, and the feedback was insane. I felt like the King of Jerky. š
So when I heard Darren Aronofsky was giving a lecture, I grabbed a premium pack of DCPLN Snacks and headed over. I wanted to give the master behind The Whale and Black Swan a taste of real filmmaker fuel.
The staff warned me I might not make it, but I waited. Finally, Iām at the front. I hold out the black bag, full of pride: āDarren, a gift for youāfor when youāre stuck in the edit. Directorās Cut.ā
He looks at me. Dead silence.
āI donāt eat beef.ā
The awkwardness was real. It was a brutal rejection. The ultimate reality check.
The Lesson? Know your audience? For sure. But also, I learned that even legends can be wrong... I joke, I joke! š
But seriously, I stand by my craft. DCPLN Snacks are for the meat-eaters, the set-grinders, and the carnivores who need massive protein to survive a 14-hour production day. Darren might not want it, but I know YOU do.
Batch #002 is in the dehydrator right now. Stay tuned, stay hungry, and STAY DISCIPLINED.
POV: Tucked between the vest and the soul.
Found a unique spot for the phone to capture this angle. Itās tight, itās raw, and it shows exactly what it feels like to be locked into the Arri Artemis 2.
Wish you could see the monitor from here, but you can definitely feel the flow of the move. Sometimes the best perspective is the one the audience never sees.

Huge shoutout to Marcus from Catgriller in Germany for sending over this innovative Docking Bracket. Itās a game-changer for my rig, but as with any precision gear, there was one tiny detail that needed a custom touch to make it absolutely perfect for my specific setup.
Iām incredibly lucky to have friends like Gordon Yould. This man is a legend. Having a friend with a fully equipped home workshop and the skills to match is a total blessing. We spent today refining that one piece, and seeing it all come together was pure satisfaction.
There is something special about the processāworking with someone who truly enjoys the craft and is always ready to help a fellow pro. Gordon, thank you for the time and the expertise!
The bracket is now flawless and ready for the field. If youāre looking for a rock-solid docking solution thatās built by pros for pros, definitely check out Catgriller. And if you have a friend like Gordonābuy them a beer (or some high-quality steak)!

Pushing the limits of stability. Whether Iām behind the rig or under the bar, the goal is the same: zero compromise, total control.
High-intensity sets require high-quality recovery. Keeping the shots smooth and the gains steady with @dcplnsnacks
ADAPT. OVERCOME. REFUEL.
Sometimes the schedule wins, but the discipline stays intact.
Todayās meal prep was challenging.
#12-hour shift ahead of me, only a small piece of liver in the fridgeānot enough protein to hit my 180g daily target.
The Solution: I treated my DCPLN Jerky like āProtein Powder.ā
I crushed it down and mixed it directly into my buckwheat.
Why this works:
1. Bioavailability: Pure, high-quality beef protein.
2. The Crunch: It turns a boring meal into a textured, savory experience.
3. Efficiency: No excuses about ānot having enough food.ā You use what you have to stay on track.
This isnāt just a snack. Itās a tool for anyone who refuses to miss their macros. Whether youāre on a film set or in your kitchen, you find a way to make it work.
THAT IS DCPLN.

I found a new vantage point that completely changes how we see the Steadicam in action. I rigged a POV camera right onto the vest, positioned between the vest and the arm.
The most important piece of gear for a Steadicam Operator. š„š¤
My back is my business. Carrying a heavy rig all day requires more than just strengthāit demands recovery. We always invest in the best vests, arms, and sleds, but we often forget about the most crucial recovery tool: our bed.
Thatās why I decided to stop compromising and invest in a serious mattress. Meet my new Kirkland Signature by Stearns & Foster.
As operators, we focus so much on getting the perfect shot, but that magic happens only when we are fully recovered. A solid, supportive mattress isnāt a luxury; itās an essential part of the job.
I havenāt even slept on it yet, but I already know that prioritizing spinal support during the 8 hours Iām not working will redefine the other 16 hours when I am. Hereās to deeper sleep, faster recovery, and smoother shots.

Saturday in Los Angeles. The focus isnāt on fancy plating; itās on raw, effective fuel. This is about recovery and power.
My Noon Recharge:
ā Half a Grapefruit (The Burner) ā Natural metabolism boost.
ā One Kiwi (The Vitamin Spike) ā Pure, essential fiber.
ā Beef Jerky (The Muscle Builder) ā A solid hit of lean protein.
This is the fuel that moves the needle. A clean, disciplined choice when temptation is at its peak.
Back to work. The results start now. šš„
