Hospital Sculptures Pt. 1 - Safari Gear
During her seven day stay in hospital last month, Kiki made a number of sculptures and objects out of the materials available to her; bedpans, pill-pots, face masks, gloves. The safari get up was to emulate our valentine’s day plans of going to longleat safari, which we had to cancel.

last month my fiance, @shescalledkiki , was hospitalised for a week with a bout of neutropenia - one of her many autoimmune conditions that have seen her spend more time in the hospital than most people ever will. it was a difficult time, scary and exhausting and with all the time we spent isolating in her hospital room we discussed using the time and circumstance to try and make something of it together.
we decided on a project documenting and detailing her experience, and of mine as i’m by her side throughout it all - perhaps to raise some awareness, perhaps just to help us find a silver lining and make something beautiful out of a bad situation.
so this is the start of “In Sickness and Health”, chronicling life with my chronically ill wife, a project that could last a lifetime.
