When a young patient told one of our nurses he wanted to play football, the hospice team knew what they had to do.
Jumpers for goal posts, a dash to the high street for a ball, and it was on.
In our garden, surrounded by staff and supporters, Isaiah’s wish came true.
This is what hospice care really looks like – moments full of joy, laughter and helping people live fully until the end.
Hospice care is more than you think.

From Gwyneth’s ‘Dancing Queen’ routine to Brian’s speedy salsa, our patients show us every day that hospice care is more than you think.
Hospices are places where people can laugh, move, celebrate and embrace life.
By supporting hospice care – with perhaps a small gift in your Will – you’ll help ensure our team can help people achieve what matters to them.

On Sunday 10 May, over 2,400 incredible people came together at Keston Common for Fun Walk 2026! Thank you so much to everyone who joined us. Whilst we may not have had the glorious sunshine of previous years, that didn’t stop us from having a wonderful day.
I’m thrilled to share with you that we’ve raised over £206,000 so far, and we’re still counting! This is an amazing achievement that simply wouldn’t be possible without supporters like you.
Every step walked and every single pound raised means that we can continue to be there for families across south east London when they need us most. Whether you walked, sponsored someone or volunteered your time or talents on the day - thank you for making Fun Walk 2026 one to remember.

Happy International Nurses day to all of our wonderful nurses. Last Sunday at Fun Walk, our supporters took a moment to say thank you to the nurses who care for people and families in our community every day 🎉👏

Today is International Nurses Day, a day where we recognise the incredible impact and contribution nurses across the world make.
Patrick is one of our Community Nurses, supporting people in their own homes to live every moment well. Patrick has been working with Eli to get him back on his bike - something that has helped Eli to find purpose again 🚲
Did you know that a large part of our nursing care happens outside of our hospice walls? Every day, our Community Nurses are helping patients across South East London to reconnect with the things that matter most to them.

For those who are grieving, talking about death and dying can be an essential part of processing a loss.
Since Bill's wife died, Bill has been attending one of our weekly Bereavement Help Points to open up and share his experiences with others. Our Bereavement Help Points are informal spaces designed to bring people together to talk about death, dying and bereavement.
Bill has been accompanied by Theresa, a volunteer in our Compassionate Neighbours scheme. Compassionate Neighbours brings local people together who might benefit from additional companionship. We matched Theresa and Bill with each other and we're so pleased to see the connection they've made 💙

What’s your fantasy funeral?
As part of Dying Matters Awareness Week, members of the St Christopher’s staff team share their own thoughts on this question openly, thoughtfully and in their own words.
These reflections show that talking about death and dying is something we can all take part in, and that making space for these conversations can be meaningful, human and even comforting.
We’d love you to join in. What would matter most to you at your fantasy funeral? Share your thoughts in the comments 👇

What's your fantasy funeral? This might sound like an unusual question, but we think it's a powerful way to open up conversations about death and dying.
Ghulam and Carol told us about their fantasy funerals and we loved how personal and honest they were in their responses.
Today, we're inviting you to tell us about your fantasy funeral in the comments below 👇
