Four reasons to consider fasting this Lent: 1. It awakens us from apathy 2. It reveals the things that control us 3. It trains us for joy in times of lack 4. It facilitates a power surge as we rely on God’s strength not our own We’re exploring two pathways as a church to push back against the rising tide of comfort and decide against distraction. Why? To make more space for Jesus in our lives. We’re choosing a physical lack to stir a spiritual longing Do join in!

Through out the Foundation course, participants will be matched with a mentor. Over the 8 weeks, they'll have one-on-one chats to support personal growth, set goals, and navigate the future. After everyone got their morning coffee, we all sat down and tried to answer questions about faith. We explored lots of areas in a safe environment.

Meet Dan! Dan was on the first foundation course and now works in packaging and distribution for Holy Fool. He's came so far from when he started and everyone couldn't be more proud. This is his story

The foundation is an 8-week programme from St Basil’s church which offers a clear pathway to sustained employment using one-to-one mentorship. The Foundation focuses on five key areas: hard skills, soft skills, mentoring, exploring faith, and community & fun. Participants receive barista and catering training through Holy Fool and MANNA, alongside mentoring, soft skills development and support. Graduates move into work placements with partner businesses, gaining valuable on-the-job experience. Every penny given to Holy Fool goes towards our mission to help others. We’re absolutely buzzing to introduce Harry, who’s just completed the Foundation Programme with HF and Manna Harry has shown a real willingness to learn, brilliant attention to detail, and has fully thrown himself into the world of coffee. He’s been keen to grow in every area of what it takes to run a coffee company — and it’s been a joy to watch. Next up, Harry will be jumping on our social media to help introduce you to some of the people involved in what we do and to share a few of their stories along the way. Massive well done, Harry — we’re so proud of you

This has been a special advent, contemplating the arrival of the light of the world. No “saviour” we find in the world can keep its promises to bring us life and hope but God’s long-promised Saviour, Jesus, does. We pray blessing on every household in our community and beyond this Christmas as we place our trust in Jesus afresh Thank you @isaacjames.film for capturing this season in our church

Advent is a moment to ponder the prelude to the promise… This year at St Basil’s we’re going to be focusing on what is means for Jesus to be the promised saviour. How can we find hope in that promise in the midst of life’s pain and worries? This time of year is a moment where we can be swept up in the mania of the festivities and gift-buying, not by any means bad things. But why not journey with us through these four weeks and beyond, to see if we can find a hope that satiates the deep longings and restlessness of our hearts. Join us this Sunday for the start of the Advent season. Visit our website for upcoming service information. Huge thanks to @petedaviespoet for these incredible words and @isaacjames.film for the beautiful shots.

Very excited to release our double single, “Rejoice Again”—two worship songs born from moments of encounter within our church community. We believe these songs carry a prophetic declaration for St Basil’s and the wider Church in this season: a call to be a people of persisting praise. Our prayer is that these songs awaken a resolve in our hearts to continually lift our eyes to Him, trusting in the One who is the author and sustainer of our faith. At Christmas we celebrate the arrival of a long-promised Saviour in Jesus. When the world around us seems so fragile and it is hard to find much hope in the failing and fleeting “saviours” the world offers, we can rest assured in the long arc of the promises of God over time and place and empires and fashions. This Christmas we invite you to come and hear about the hope we have in Jesus: God’s promised Saviour, present to us today.

This is a role that will be stretching and challenging, full of creative opportunity and deeply fulfilling. This church community is on a faith adventure to make disciples that see renewal break out across this region and establish a modern day Basiliad that will be a rural campus for kingdom life. Alongside apostles and pastors and prophets, we need someone with calling and gifting to provide operational strategy and bring the vision to reality. If this could be you, please do apply to be our next Operations Director! Www.stbasils.church/jobs
