Reed was diagnosed with a grade 4 glioma ā an aggressive brain tumor ā at just 4.5 years old in 2022. š
Over 3 years of treatment, he met every challenge with humor, optimism, and a joyful spirit that touched everyone around him. He was a loving brother, an amazing hugger, and a kid who found joy in books, dancing, swimming, and learning. āØ
After multiple recurrences, Reed passed away at home in August 2025, surrounded by his family. š
Now, in his honor, his family is helping push pediatric brain tumor research forward so one day, no other family has to go through this kind of heartbreak. ā¤ļø

Science is finding new ways to reach kids with brain #cancer. š§
Focused ultrasound ā a non-invasive, painless technique ā can temporarily open the blood-brain barrier, helping chemotherapy get directly to tumors.
In a small study with a St. Baldrickās funded researcher, this technique was used in 3 children with diffuse midline glioma. While they ultimately lost their lives to the disease or related complications š, the approach proved safe, non-invasive, and showed some short-term mobility improvements.
More research is ahead, but this milestone could help change whatās possible for kids with brain cancer. āØ

For World Retinoblastoma Week, @worldeyecancerhope and the @stbaldricks are sharing what every parent, caregiver, and community should know about #retinoblastoma, a rare childhood eye cancer.
The two most common early signs are:
šļø A white glow in the pupil
šļø A turned or misaligned eye
If you notice something unusual, trust your instinct and ask your childās doctor for an eye exam or referral to a pediatric eye specialist.
Save this. Share this. Help more families know the signs.
