let’s talk for a sec!
static.grl as a project means the world to me. to watch my own ‘come up’ (nowhere near severe popularity, mind you, but i’m none the less thankful) over the past year has been quite the ride. i’m not just talking about the collabs, the growth thru streaming, i’m not even talking about music on the whole. i’m talking about life! this past year has been one of the most challenging i’ve faced. i started with no job, no confidence, and almost no hope. i believed every bit of music i had written was utter garbage, and there were times i wanted to delete it all. there were times too that i wanted to do a lot more than that. but thanks to a multitude of friends and my beautiful girlfriend encouraging me along the way and helping me to grow my platform and become more confident in my abilities both creatively and in day-to-day life, i’ve ended the year meeting one of my besties IRL, working a job, and with a full record of my own, original music being released to vinyl! this is a dream i’ve had since i was 14-15, writing shitty little songs in my bedroom (i literally wrote it in a bucket list!). to see it happen, to be able to hold it physically, in a word it’s surreal. thank you to everyone who’s encouraged me not just in the past year but in the past decade, those who have stuck by me and continuously told me to keep going, i love you all! my confidence has never been better (evidenced in one of those pics perhaps…)!! i love my god damn self!!! and all of yall should to!!! here’s to music, here’s to love, here’s to static.grl!!!
