State Faults are an Emoviolence band from California. This band has been around for almost 2 decades, formed in 2010. They seemingly have flown under the radar too, this band deserves more love and recognition for the amazing tunes they deliver. Clairvoyant is my favorite album by them, every song is a certified banger. If you haven’t listened, their entire discography is waiting to impress you, you won’t be let down. For fans of Loma Prieta, Frail Body and Crowning.

As you celebrate the holiday with your loved ones today, please remember to wish a happy birthday to ol’ Saint Mitch, a.k.a. Mitch Donwell a.k.a. Michael Weldon, our badddass guitarist who was born 36 years ago today. To know him is to know boundless optimism and kindness personified. He is a true friend and an actual living saint and we love him. Happy birthday Michael and Merry Christmas y’all!
Today marks another trip around the sun for our fearless front man. He’s the voice you hear when you spin our records and he wrote the words you see when you read through the liner notes. He’s The Face. He’s the emotion. He’s the man who owns the stage and we love him for all that he is. Tell him Happy Birthday down in the comments!
Happy 12th birthday to our album Resonate/Desperate. Recorded in four days with Jack Shirley at the old @_the_atomic_garden_ , it was our first time in a real recording studio. Playing shitty guitars with worn strings, we went in there and played the songs live, doing vocals and fixes afterwards. 13 songs, 2 of them b-sides (Despera and Dead Teeth, which would become Funeral Teeth on Clairvoyant). We are thankful that this record has reached so many people!

Take care of yourselves, and each other

One year ago today, Children of the Moon was released into the world—and with it, a piece of our souls. We’ve never poured more of ourselves into anything. Never labored with such intensity or intention. This wasn’t a collection of songs tossed into the ‘stream’ to be shuffled and forgotten. It was created as a single living, breathing entity—a sonic companion to our lives, stitched together with every lesson we’ve learned over the years. This record is a reflection of ourselves. Unashamed, blemished and nakedly pure. And even if it had slipped into the void unheard—as we once feared it might—we could’ve gone to the grave knowing it existed, complete and unflinching.
To everyone who’s listened, who held a physical copy in their hands, who came to a show and shared a piece of themselves in return—thank you. To our friends who weathered every season of this journey, and to our families—both in this world and beyond—you are the rhythm in our hearts and the constellations that guide us home. We love you deeply. We carry your light.
Over the weekend, our brother and vocalist Jonny lost his mother after her year-long battle with cancer. Her passing has left a deep void in our lives and we are heartbroken at the loss. She was a true angel and we feel so blessed to have been a part of her life.
In light of this loss and to give Jonny and his family the time they need, we’ve decided to cancel our upcoming East Coast dates in August, including New Friends Fest. We hate to cancel shows, but we appreciate your understanding and hope to see you again soon.
Feel free to use the comments to send all your warmest thoughts and well wishes to Jonny and let him know that he’s loved.
