Thanks to your support, the Big Tex® Scholarship Program has now awarded more than $21.4 million to over 3,850 students across Texas, including more than $1.2 million in new college scholarships awarded to 103 students in 2026 alone.
For 34 years, the Big Tex Scholarship Program® has changed the lives of Texas students, awarding more than $21.4 million to over 3,850 students across the Lone Star State.
Now, we’re reaching another major milestone: increasing new and future scholarship awards from $6,000 to $12,000 while awarding more than $1.2 million to 103 new scholars in 2026.
Every visit to the State Fair of Texas directly supports our nonprofit mission, helping us continue investing in Texas students and the future ahead. ⭐

Spotted! 📸 Big Tex has arrived at the #MetGala carpet! 🤠✨ At 55 feet tall, he didn’t dress for “Fashion is Art," he IS the exhibit. Part sculpture, part spectacle, all Texas.
Mint juleps might belong to Churchill Downs… but did you know the State Fair of Texas once had live horse racing? 🐎
When the State Fair settled at Fair Park in the late 1800s, it featured a mile-long racetrack that drew massive crowds.
But in 1903, when Texas outlawed betting on horse races, the horse track era came to a halt. Racing persisted in various forms (even shifting to auto racing for a time), but the original era of thundering hooves eventually faded.
