💖 The Pink Bedroom Marrakech: Part 1 💖
Oh hunnies, you are probably going to get sick of me posting about this room, but my god is she a masterpiece! This room in itself could have its own documentary so to wrap it up in one social post seems impossible, but here is what I can tell you so far. 💫
1. It was all hand painted by one of Marrakech’s finest Zouak painters using traditional techniques along with our California Dreamin’ collection

2. The lovely artisan who painted the fine detail also worked on the largest (and most incredibly beautiful) Mosque in Morocco and the world famous La Mamounia Hotel, one of the top hotels in the world.
3. Building it from scratch and painting it all took around 3 years to complete.
4. Everything was custom built to my vision including built in wardrobes, custom bed frame, book shelves, vanity area with custom Hollywood style mirror, the door, the seating- all of it!
5. My inspiration was, firstly the Zouak style of painting itself, my own pink paints, the man who ended up painting this for me (what an absolute G he is!) and a mash up of Arabian nights princess meets 70s California love vibes sprinkled on top.
Even just looking at photos of this room makes me emotional. So much love went into this space. I feel honoured not only that my vision was trusted, but that it was respected and celebrated.
Most of all, I gained an artistic soulmate in Abdelrahim. We created the designs together, pulling shapes from his sketchbooks and adding new ones too. I painted alongside him on paper to get the colours just right. This was his first ever collaboration, and even though we share very few words in common, our bond as artists doesn’t need translation.
He has since gone on to paint my shop, many of the pieces in it, and will soon be leading painting workshops for guests. I could talk forever about how amazing he is—but for now, I’ll leave you to swipe through and see his extraordinary handwork for yourself. And truly, this is only the beginning. 💖💫💫💫
