a year and a half ago, i made a movie about femme friendship and home before launching myself to a new life in nyc. this was the first film i ever made, and iāve felt embarrassed to share it for the longest time because it didnāt really go the way i planned. but i made a promise to myself to share it with the world in the new year because i owed it to the friends i made this film with (and myself!) to let go of my ego and see where this story will take me.
thank you @princess_claralyn , @vict0ria.luu , dayoung, and @tiger_chow for making this story come to life with me. i love you all so very much.
a higher quality version of this film is available on my website, link in bio!

A young witch plugs a phone into the ravaged suburban wild. Elsewhere, two schoolgirls rendezvous on a beach strewn with looking glasses. Somewhere in between, their worlds collide.
recent fits ft. some dear pals
came back on here to give a big life announcement. three months ago i quit my full time corporate job to pursue film and production design. iāve been in nyc for less than a year, and yet i feel iāve already lived so many lives. to be frank, itās been exhausting, to continuously grow into new versions of yourself, to live and die time after time, sometimes without your own consent. but i want to celebrate what i have accomplished: for the first time in my life, i have lived authentically, in tune with love, in tune with my vision of care and play and community. iāve put my heart out on a dinner plate and allowed it to be eaten. a while back, i was reflecting to anqi how this is the year that have embraced the brave romantic that i know i am and will always be. there arenāt a lot of us out there, but iāve met a couple on this journey, and i honor you. letās continue to make beautiful and ugly things.

back in suburbia. on the surface, the matrix feels the same ā frostbitten grass, ruptured asphalt, air that tastes of exhaust and pine. but something is different, an unnamed shadow follows me here. in my three months away, i have become at once more and less certain of who i am and what i want to be. i think there is an animal waiting to emerge from my body. i still want to make beautiful things, but i also want to grow a monster. there is one fact of which i am sure: i am no longer as afraid to be loved. maybe there lies the answer.
hello! i currently have a v complicated relationship with social media so i donāt think iāll be on here other than to provide updates on my life. but here is a big one!! i recently moved to nyc, where i am living with one of my bestest friends, @anqiyu.jpg . i am slowly acclimating to the rhythms of this curious city, which in some ways echos that of my hometown of nanjing. perhaps all big cities share the same soul. i also recently acquired these margiela boots, which iāve desperately coveted since seeing them on the one and only @safiamafia . wearing them, i feel like a queer woodland creature. or more accurately, my cloven feet transport me back to my childhood obsession with mr. tumnus. a question i get a lot these days is why am i here? why am i here in nyc? the answer is not as specific as people might desire, but itāll have to do for now! iām here to make art and fulfill some dreams. if youāre in this city, donāt be a stranger! I would love to say hi and make you dinner and tea (:
in truth i have been really out of the social media world these days bc i have been playing the new legend of zelda game All The Time. maybe i identify as a gamer girl now. here are some of the surreal, beautiful, and kind things iāve experienced of late. and yes that is remy the rat! he didnāt make the ratatouille tho, thatās the love and care of @princess_claralyn and @vict0ria.luu
behind the scenes with @princess_claralyn and @vict0ria.luu . this film of ours has so far been such an ordeal(!), but honestly i am living the dream. i have a lot of anxieties about what the future holds, but i know for sure that iāll be making things until the day i die :,) ty to all the friends that are making this happen! we canāt wait to share this story with you all soon.
also! a big shoutout to creatv for lending us your equipment! we appreciate you to the moon and back š«
