“Só Alegria” is a traditional saying from the Brazilian Indigenous tribes that means “Only joy.”
I’ll never forget the exact moments the Huni Kuin and Yawanawá elders yelled “Só alegria!” as I’m bursting into profound tears of pain and gratitude during challenging ceremonies.
That’s not bypassing the pain.
