Today, we are holding close the memory of a treasured friend of the Star 6 Ranch, Margaret Rider of Mnî Thnî.
Margaret loved this land, these animals, and the spirit of connection that lives here. More than a supporter, she was someone whose presence, kindness, and care left a lasting imprint on the hearts of those around her.
Margaret was part of the fabric of this place. She believed in what the Star 6 Ranch could offer and she was always here whenever we needed her. Her support, friendship and love will not be forgotten. We will miss her forever.
Our hearts are with all who knew and loved her, especially her family, friends, and community.

Set within the quiet stillness of winter, this experience is designed to help you begin the new year grounded, aligned, and connected to what truly matters. You’ll be held by the land and warmed by our fireside yurt as we move through grounding rituals, guided reflection, and Orenda’s powerful Vision Mapping Workshop. This workshop is rooted in the three pillars of neural manifestation by @tobemagnetic — Expand, Unblock, Aligned Action.

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Banff Mountain Film Festival, filmmakers from around the world were invited to pitch stories about mountain culture. From an international call for submissions, five projects were selected to compete for a first-place prize of $25,000 CAD, representing four countries: Canada, the USA, Colombia, and Kyrgyzstan.
We’re proud that one of those five selected film concepts highlighted the Star 6 Ranch and the work Fiona leads here.
On Saturday, Nov. 8th, the finalists presented their documentary shorts live on stage before a panel of judges. @olivia_c_jo ‘s project placed 5th, and while we didn’t take home the prize, being chosen among such inspiring storytellers has been an honour.
We’re now looking ahead with excitement. Fiona and the filmmaker, Olivia Johnson, aspire to secure the funding needed to bring this documentary to life next summer. A huge thank you to Olivia, whose passion and gift for storytelling shines bright.
