One of the greatest privileges of the work I get to do is collaborating with people who truly love their craft.
From the crane operator, to @archieheldsculptor (the bronze sculptor who created this beautiful water wall), to the installation team, to @sloanmiyasato who represents Archie and helped us navigate all the logistics beautifully - this project was a delight from start to finish. Watching the piece hover above the house, seeing it carefully placed into the garden courtyard, and finally watching the lights come alive in the water was incredibly special.
Grateful for a process that flowed so harmoniously and for working with people whose passion brings such beauty into the world.
What a special afternoon last Saturday at @carmelmodern . Thank you @johncromwellart for hosting such a special event and to Lucas Blok and @traceyadamsart for the warmth, insight, and creativity you brought to the conversation. Thanks to everyone who joined our well-attended artist talk and book signing event. Lisa Staprans of Staprans Design acted as moderator in the discussion with Tracey Adams and Lucas Blok, exploring the evolutionary process and challenges faced in creating art. Lisa then followed with a discussion of her excellent new book, The Soul of Design, while discussing the role that a painting can play in touching your soul and in helping create a “view” in an environment. Lisa Staprans, celebrated Bay Area Interior Designer and noted speaker, will be joining us to to talk about her latest book, The Soul of Design, and will be interviewing two of Carmel Modern’s artists, Tracey Adams and Lucas Blok. Tracey created three new encaustic works for our Winter Light show. We also have two new luminous smaller works from Lucas, perfect for that special place in your home. It will be a lively and engaging program and we look forward to having you join us.
