It’s been a pressure cooker embarking on this on top of a full time job and parenthood but I’m learning a lot and hopefully putting myself in a position to serve others better.
Growth always comes with discomfort. Keep pushing through it, strength is on the other side.

Chiselling off 20 years worth of rust will take time. Throughout this process I’ve learned to be kind to myself and that small personal wins are important no matter what the outside perspective is. I’ve learned that the sport of football is unforgiving, often judgemental and that ageism becomes a thing in your 30’s even at grassroots level. I’ve learned that old school values are under threat and that this current generation of footballers don’t communicate the way we used to on and off the pitch. I’ve found myself missing the passion and aggression I resented at times as a kid.
BUT
Despite the changes, I’ve remembered how much I love this game and I’m growing with so I can be involved as a player as long as I can.
Form is temporary, class is permanent. It’s not a cliche, it’s a fact.
Zinedine Divan’s got a ring to it. Challenge accepted.
