That’s all of my favorite photos from this event! Second time shooting for Ale! and first time shooting at Flow State Bouldering Gym. Such a wonderful experince and what a beautiful gym! - kudos to all the owners! Always grateful for the oppurtunity to learn and improve my skills.
For this event, I tried my best to take more time to learn the routes before the start of every session, so that I know how and when to position myself. I wanted to at least take a photo of every climber, so i decided to stick to just one zone - foregoing the oppurtunity to have more variety in my shots but at least everyone would have a photo from the event. I also wanted to be more intentional in the shots i took (lowered my usual ~5k shots to ~3k). Also trying to play around with post more - cropping, composition, lighting, etc. Still overwhelmed but we’re getting there! I feel really excited to be able to capture nice photos for people and receive feedback on all the work I’ve done. Thank you! 🙏🏻 on to the next one!

@mignightsnack reaching for the infamous crux hold of “3 Stitches”, 7b+/c. Uling wall, Montalban, Philippines
The original test piece of Uling wall with a very bouldery sequence ending on a sharp crux hold - which is how the route got its name - the person who did the FA had to get 3 stitches because of that hold!
I have been wanting to take a decent shot of this route for a very long time - hanging from the static line gave me a very different perspective of how heavy all these moves are and how much of a power-endurance fest it takes to clip the chains.
Thank you to @alaychay for setting up my rig and of course to Migs and Yvette for being open to try out this route even if it was only their first time in Uling wall.
