If you had told me years ago that one day, Iâd be performing standup for a crowd that included the Arundhati Royâauthor of The God of Small Things, one of the finest literary minds to be aliveâI would have laughed it off. But here we are.
Hearing those words from her felt like a dream,
I tried my best to act chill.
.
While speaking with her, a short film flashed through my mind featuring the vibrant green cover of The God of Small Things. It transported me to the memory of that very green-covered book on my cousinâs shelf, which he kindly gave me to read at my request. I cherished every moment of it.

Comedy has given me many unforgettable experiences, but this? This oneâs going in the âtell-my-grandkidsâ folder đ.
