There’s something special about those final touches, every detail is considered before the work leaves the studio. The last quiet moments before it’s on the move. From here, it heads off with Standish & Co to be carefully scanned and archived for Kim’s recent exhibition at @nandahobbs . This is what “Capture What’s Important” looks like in practice. A body of work, handled with care, documented, archived and futureproofed. Because what Kim created deserves to be more than a memory. MORE THAN JUST INK ON PAPER @allie_jonscher explains “Apparitions is an enquiry into the onslaught of AI slop that has infiltrated the Information Age, like digging through piles of debris from the rubble of our post-truth apocalypse. It’s an offering of painting to resurrect the soul. I have been in active dialogue with the AI software, employing it as a collaborator in my art practice. I prompt the AI with gibberish as an ‘abstract prompting’ method that behaves like an abstract, mark-making practice, or a virtual text-based action painting, smashing my keyboard with my hands and exploring the images that unfold.
