@stall_pv - Profit Violence (SM063)
$8 bandcamp
$6 bigcartel
ALL PROCEEDS BENEFIT PCRF!
“Profit Violence” is a raw collection of rapid-fire tracks that fuse chaotic energy with poignant social commentary. Drawing influences from legendary acts like Infest, Spazz, and Charles Bronson, Stall injects their own signature blend of power, spite, and personal accountability into this release.
Formed during the height of the pandemic, Stall has become a staple in the Cincinnati punk scene, exceeding their initial ambitions of being a short-lived project. “We just wanted to make the fastest and tightest songs possible,” the band recalls. Despite geographical challenges with members coming and going, Stall has kept their spirit alive through touring and playing with whoever is in town and ready to grind.
Profit Violence was recorded on a reel-to-reel at Checkered Flag Studios by Jerome Westerkamp, with an unconventional setup that included three guitars and two basses. “[It] took a while to get down tight, especially all together, but it made it all more worth it when it was done.”
The album delivers critiques of capitalism and the suffocating systems that society operates within. “A lot of these songs are about optimism, personal accountability, and general spite for capitalism,” the band explains. “We wanted to create something that speaks to the frustration we all feel, but also to the hope that we can make things better, even if it’s on our own terms.”
