Greetings Fighters! Our next Spring Workshop class is Randomly Generated Choreo: Single Sword Edition! Whether you get stuck trying to figure out choreo, want to shake up your habits, or you’ve never choreographed before and don’t know where to start, randomly generating your choreography makes you look at a fight in a fresh way. With no AI involved, in this class you’ll roll dice to decide what’s going to happen in the fight. Your job is to take what the dice tell you and justify all of the moves to make a coherent story. What will YOU roll? Sword and buckler (fighting with a sword or rapier in one hand and a small shield in the off-hand) held a strange place in historical fighting. Rarely a combination for the battlefield, various shields were used frequently in diverse eras and regions. It was carried for self-defense, and even mentioned by Shakespeare. Join Mike and Lacy as they delve into this famous weapon style throughout history and the world of art. Greetings AMDA Alumni! Back by popular demand, Alumni RENEWALS is returning this year! Renew your certifications in up to 5 weapons (Unarmed, Rapier & Dagger, Smallsword, Knife, and Two-Handed Sword). Weapon Certifications are good for 3 years and then must be renewed to be considered current. You can renew at any time, you do not need to wait until your weapon expires. You must have already passed a certification in a weapon in order to renew it. You don’t need to already have all 5 weapons to join the class. You will have the opportunity to renew your certifications in all the weapons you already have and receive hours towards a future SPT for the weapons that you don’t. Today we announce Stage Combat LA’s class offerings for the year! A few days ago we announced the AMDA Alumni ONLY classes for this spring, you can find more information about the classes and how to sign up in the post from Monday. This Spring we’ll be offering a a series of one-off workshop style classes in the park. You can find the schedule for them here and we’ll be releasing more info about each one as we get closer to them. The Summer is going to be all about Certification with SPT courses in Rapier & Dagger, Two-Handed Sword, and Quarterstaff! In the Fall we’ll be bringing back workshop classes, schedule on those to be announced at a later date. We’re SUPER excited to fight with all of you in the park! Greetings, fighters! We’re wrapping up the year with a one day Glowstick Holiday Special class. We’ll meet in the park to train and end the class after dusk when the sticks can really glow 😉 This is an open-level skill class, no previous experience required. It is still actor sword fighting training, but with Glowsticks! Class is $40, all weapons are provided. If you’d like to bring your own Glowstick, be prepared to have it inspected for combat readiness before class begins. Email Travis at [email protected] to sign up. See you in the park!

Yesterday we had our test for our Summer SPT Classes! 23 students performing 34 tests in 18 scenes across 5 disciplines. Everyone passed with an 80% Recommend rating, congratulations everyone!
