A Bangkok-based collective exploring the possibilities of media art and emerging technologies, STACK
@stack_xyz , makes its long-awaited debut in Japan.
Formed by artists and curators who have been active in the algorave and audiovisual scenes, STACK has been exploring how technology transforms our senses and perceptions of the world through diverse hybrid formats—screenings, installations, performances, workshops, and publications. Rather than a fixed organization, it functions as an ever-evolving experimental platform, combining criticality with a sense of play.
Now coming to Japan for the exhibition at Art Center NEW
@artcenter_new , STACK will present its first performance in the country on Thursday, September 11 at WPU HOTEL, Shinjuku
@wpushinjuku . Joining them will be
@kakiaraara , a leading young artist in Japan’s audiovisual scene.
Before the performance, there will also be a talk session: Pathompong Manakitsomboon (Big), one of founding member and curator of STACK, will discuss “The History and Current State of Media Art in Bangkok” in conversation with
@ryuta_aoki_ , artist and artistic director based in Tokyo.

![〈出展者紹介 / Exhibitor Profile〉■StackStack operates as an evolving ecology of media art and emerging technologies based in Thailand, serving as a curatorial framework where creative inquiry meets critical infrastructure. Conceived as both structure and process, it brings together artists, tools, and contexts to explore how technological systems continually reshape our ways of seeing, sensing, and understanding the world.Through hybrid formats including screenings, installations, audiovisual performances, workshops, and publishing, Stack investigates the shifting grammars of media art and its entanglement with emergent systems. ICurating, in this context, becomes a method of worlding: a way of constructing speculative environments where knowledge is prototyped and experience re-encoded.
