It’s back - join us at Mayfield Lavender this summer! 🌿✨
Set against the purple haze of the lavender fields, we're delighted to invite you to Lavender & Lanterns - a sunset memory walk in support of your local hospice, and in celebration of those you love.
Inspired by our much-loved Lavender Walk, the event returns this year with some new additions. Personalised lanterns can be carried as you walk, creating a trail of light across the fields at sunset. Everlasting Roses will be displayed amongst the lavender, dedicated to those we love.
We can't wait to walk beside you again, in honour of those who matter most. 💜
All funds raised go directly to the vital care we provide on our ward and in the community.

💜 International Nurses Day 💜
Today, we celebrate and thank our extraordinary team of nurses who make such a positive impact and meaningful difference every single day.
At St Raphael’s, our nursing teams provide skilled, compassionate care both on our hospice ward and out in the heart of the community. Combining specialist expertise with genuine human kindness, they help make every precious moment count for patients, carers, and those closest to them.
“St Raphael’s nurses were a lifeline for our family when we needed it most. They cared for our mum with such compassion and dignity, and for us too – nothing was ever too much trouble. In those hardest days, they didn’t just provide the very best specialist care, they became like family. I honestly don’t know where we would have been without them.” – Kelly
Thank you to all of our incredible nurses for everything you do.
This week marks Dying Matters Awareness Week - a powerful reminder that open and honest conversations can truly make a difference.
Starting a conversation about death, dying and bereavement can feel difficult, but even small moments of openness can bring comfort, clarity and connection when it matters most 💜
At our Wellbeing Centre, we’re supporting this important week by continuing to create space for these conversations. From welcoming external speakers such as Talking Therapies, Hospice Biographers and St Bernard’s Charity - offering guidance and practical financial support - to a special craft project where attendees create “bags of happiness” as a personal bereavement gesture.
Every day, we see the positive impact of these supportive spaces - helping patients, carers and loved ones feel more prepared, supported and less alone.
Big bargains, good brews, and cake? Yes please.
Our clearance sale is back this weekend, with doors open 10am–4pm each day. Expect plenty of great finds, sweet treats, and a warm welcome, all while supporting the hospice!
Pop in, have a browse, and grab yourself something special.

Last week, we joined @hospice_uk and fellow hospices at 10 Downing Street to advocate for fair hospice funding, a crucial step toward securing the future of hospice care.
As we continue to advocate for hospice funding, your support remains vital in helping us deliver the compassionate care our community deserves. Together, we can ensure that everyone has access to exceptional hospice care when they need it most.

Only 18 months ago, we were forced to make £1 million in cuts to protect frontline care. Today, there is nothing left to trim without affecting patient care and the families who rely on us. Without sustainable funding, our hospice beds will have to close.
This week, we stood outside 10 Downing Street alongside hospice colleagues from across the country, continuing to call for fair and urgent funding.
Thank you for standing with us!
If you’re able to help with a donation to protect our hospice beds, please consider supporting our appeal. Every contribution, big or small, makes a meaningful difference 💜

Our CEO, Becca Trower, outside the Houses of Parliament, advocating for fair hospice funding.
Together with @HospiceUK and fellow colleagues from across the country, we hand-delivered a letter to the Prime Minister and met with MPs to share what the hospice funding crisis looks like on the ground, calling for urgent action.
Thank you for standing with us 💜
Our CEO, Rebecca Trower, and Medical Director, Dr Gabrielle Tamura-Rose, were at Downing Street and the Houses of Parliament today alongside @hospice_uk and fellow hospices, calling for fair, sustainable funding for hospice care.
We're proud for our voice to be part of this national campaign and to stand along so many advocates for end-of-life care.

A hospice bed changed everything for Marie and her family.
When Tony’s mum, Marie, was told she had weeks to live, she had spent two days in a hospital corridor.
When a bed became available at the Hospice for Marie, her pain was managed. Her fears were eased. And slowly, her warm and bubbly personality returned.
“Mum got the love, respect, and dignity she deserved in her final days. Everyone deserves that.” – Tony, Marie’s son
Marie died peacefully on our ward, surrounded by her family. Everyone deserves that. Every hospice bed matters. Please give what you can to help protect beds like Marie’s.
