hi guys, as I’m sure you’re all aware soyboy is coming to an end very soon, I just wanted to share some words of how much this band means to me and such
I was invited to join the band in year 12 music class by Tristan, little did I know what I was joining was going to be one of my most important and precious projects I’d be dedicating my life to for the next 7 years, it’s insane to look back on
This band really shaped my entry to adulthood, I feel as though when I lost my older brother this band gave me 5 more brothers to lean on, we’ve been together through thick and thin, I genuinely don’t know where I’d be without these guys. I’ve learnt so much about myself, about my craft and who I want to be!!!
Will, Zack, Cupar, Eli & Tristan you will forever hold a soyboy shaped piece of my heart, this is so sappy omg, but it’s true, thankyou for being there on the multiple occasions where I’ve crashed out, thankyou for making me laugh until my gut hurts, thankyou for being my brothers, you always will be
Ive finally pushed through the grieving process of the band, and I’m looking forward to the future. Eli, Zack, Cupar and I are going to keep going as a new band - we’re still figuring shit out but I’ve never been more excited to delve into something new with everything we’ve learnt
Thankyou to everyone who’s listened to the music, rocked up to a show, bought some merch, and shared the love. I’ve met so many wonderful people through being in soyboy, with connections I’ll hold onto forever.
We have two more gigs to go as Soyboy, both at my favourite place ever
@hamiltonstationhotel , I encourage all to attend, it’ll be a hoot !!
