Merging our organic and geometric styles, inspired by the groundbreaking techniques used by @vinci_immobilier in the construction of this new, one-of-a-kind building in Montpellier, we aimed to bring depth, texture, light, and shadow — creating a mural that serves as a memorable welcome to the space.

This week @squirlart & I had the pleasure of flying out to France to paint a feature wall @bikube.co Montpellier for @vinci_immobilier Forever grateful to @hands_on_urban_art for pulling the project together and being an all around amazing human. Great friends made and great times had.

The story of the golden hen is a popular folktale that warns against greed. In various versions, a farmer or a couple owns a hen that lays golden eggs daily. Initially, they benefit from the wealth, but their desire for even more leads them to kill the hen, believing it holds a hoard of gold. However, upon opening the hen, they find no extra gold and lose their only source of income, learning a hard lesson about greed and the value of contentment
Had a record three nervous breakdowns, twelve toddler tantrums and two mid life crises over two and half days painting this one last week at Upfest down in Bristol.
Left like a giant angry baby before scaff came down, so if anybody ever goes anywhere near it, please do send as many pics as you can get!

Old Squirl returned once more for this weeks wall, which was for Chimera climbing, and their new, soon to open centre in Chatham at the docs.
I’ve now done their Tunbridge Wells, Canterbury and Chatham centres, and have a very recognisable brand style and set of characters running across and between all three.
Go and visit them when they’re open! It’s an extra big one.

Merging three perspectives and styles to make a new one.
Colour only becomes the colour that you see when it reaches your optical nerve, your brain lags the real world by the tiniest of moments, and so predicts and fills in the gap. sound only becomes the sound you hear when it’s in your ear. The world that you personally experience is genuinely unique to you.
