I'm fascinated by candid moments because they’re what make every shoot, wedding, or session feel different. It’s the little things, the unplanned, human moments, that stick in our memory. Even when the day inevitably doesn't go as planned, those imperfections bring out the humanity of the day. In a time when AI is everywhere, we are longing to connect with other humans. The connection keeps me loving this job.
I’ve always been drawn to real stories. I remember being a kid, sitting on the floor in front of my dad, constantly asking him to tell me about when he was my age. He’d talk about walking to the grocery store in a rough Chicago neighborhood in the late 1940s, and every single time, I’d be completely hooked, lost in the details that brought me to 1940s Chicago in my head. That's what I aim to capture in my photography, the details that transport back you to the moment.

Normally, we’re not big on Holiday music before a season of giving thanks, but we’re making an exception for this one. And no pressure but I suspect these will go pretty quickly.
Just pulling out a good ol’ flash composite for Maddie & Jack. A good chunk of their day was built around portraits at an overlook, but the west’s fire season had other plans and we had a hazy sky as a result. I was grateful to have this trick up my sleeve to give them some variety (and color in the sky) for their bridal party portraits.
