SO hello squidizens! Today i’ve got something that i fought for my life over for like a month ;-; BUT i think it turned out EPIC and im so happy to be able to bring to life the shadow realm and also to flesh out squid’s family a little more! First and foremost Squid is ultimately based on myself, that being said, Scara is based on my mom! Exciting, right? So I drew this for this collab and also as a present for my mom for mother’s day! (She loved it😆)

Another one for those of you night owls out there, this one’s for you
Here are the nitty gritty details to my design for apple, like I said, i think it’s pretty simple, but I like that each piece gives her a sort of quiet elegance, she appears very much like a queen would and less so like a princess if that makes sense, I tried for a sophisticated kind of loom that wasn’t super flashy but still met worthy :DD
I put Apple in something that resembles her royally ever after doll in the sense that the design is fundamentally pretty simple. However I took a lot of different aesthetics and kind of mashed them together and I really like the result. Her hair is inspired by 1940’s victory rolls, her silhouette is reminiscent of the Edwardian era, the patterning is inspired by her classic design, and finally the apple shaped cut out on her chest is inspired by the beading that looks like gore that’s been going around since I do always love to call back to how gruesome the original fairytales are.

Good evening squidizens!! Now, I know over the years I’ve held firm that I don’t really care for the met gala, BUT when gabe pitched his idea and invited me to join I was so excited to participate in this! My one condition was that I HAD to draw Apple, I love designing for her and I’m probably the biggest Apple defender.

This one’s for you my night owls out there, I knowwwww people say to never trust how you feel about your life after 9pm, but this I feel is honestly a really good thing. I got to thinkin’ (i know, scary right?) and i was thinkin about how far I’ve come as an artist over the years. Like i started this account with my western frankie poster back in 2022- it’s been FOUR years! Four years worth of memories, art, and friends made along the way! I think that in it of itself is something to be proud of.
Now you may be wondering about the selection of art I’m choosing, and what i’m choosing is all of my favorite western pieces that I’ve done, since that’s kind if my claim to fame. When I decided to draw that frankie poster back in 2022 I had no idea that it would kickstarted my journey back into art an that i would have an account with such a large following for which im eternally grateful for! I had no idea that anything western would be well received within the monster high community because at the time it was something that I had never seen done before, but since then I’ve seen a surge of western inspiration in many of my mutuals art and I love every second of it! And the fact that so many of you have messaged me with questions or wanting to show me your western designs or anything you come across that’s western I’m SO happy that’s what people think of when they think of me! So needless to say I’ll do my absolute best to continue making rip roarin western designs and continue to interact and hopefully inspire all of you <3
