“Not every collaboration is meant to be.
But every idea deserves respect.”
I’ve kept this to myself for almost a year,
unsure whether I should speak about it,
because I would rather have friends than enemies.
But sometimes,
silence doesn’t make things right.
And silence… should not be mistaken for acceptance.
Every time I attend an event
and walk past their booth,
I choose to take a different path
unsure how to carry myself,
and not wanting to create any discomfort.
Yet each time,
I find myself asking:
how long am I supposed to keep avoiding this?
When the idea was ours,
why are we the ones who have to step aside?
It started with us sharing an idea,
with the intention of building a collaboration together.
But sometimes,
when integrity isn’t mutual,
what should have been a collaboration
turns into someone taking the idea,
developing it into their own product,
and claiming it as their own,
without acknowledgment or communication.
We didn’t expect anything unreasonable.
Just honesty,
and respect where it’s due.
This experience taught me that
ideas have value,
but integrity matters more.
Thank you to this space
for allowing me to release what has been weighing on my mind.
After being obsessed for months
asking questions, digging into research, forming hypotheses, and testing again and again with my husband,
until one day, we felt…
“This is it. This is exactly what we thought.”
Now, the piece is already in production,
getting ready to meet the world at
World of Coffee, Brussels
One side of me really wants to show it to the world😅
But the other side of me knows…
if the product is not ready to sell,
it should remain a secret.
No one should know too early.
Because from past experience,
revealing an idea too soon,
before the product is ready,
comes with a very high chance of being copied.
And being copied…
for me, it feels like a nightmare.
Sometimes it stops us from creating new things,
not because we have run out of ideas,
but because our hearts are still stuck in anger, sadness,
and the question:
“How could they do that?”
I have been watching people brew coffee for a long time,
and in my head, there were only questions:
“Wait…”
“Why?”
“What if?”
Pouring gently. Pouring aggressively.
Circular pours. Center pours.
High pours. Low pours.
Starting from the outside and moving inward,
or starting from the inside and moving outward.
A long first pour.
A fast final pour.
Contact time.
Temperature.
Coarse grind. Fine grind.
Fast flow. Slow flow.
Washed coffee, or other processes.
Dense coffee. Fragile coffee.
And so many other variables we try to control.
We will name this piece:
THE ⭐️GATE
It is something new.
Something we believe will close a certain gap
in the world of drip coffee.
And I truly believe and dream
that one day, people around the world will use it.
Writing this down
so I can come back and read it again.
For now… it remains a secret
until
World of Coffee, Brussels
This year, maybe no one will use it on the World Brewers stage yet.
But after it launches…
next year, I think we will definitely see it there.

Their HOM Aroma Display helped us share and explain the aroma characteristics behind every coffee we served throughout the exhibition.
From floral and fruity notes to deeper chocolatey profiles, it became a simple but meaningful way for people to experience coffee.

The @squeaky.coffee booth had one of those energies you naturally get pulled into.
Coffee being passed around.
People exchanging thoughts.
Conversations happening from every side of the brew bar.
And right within that was @mariam.erin brewing with the Binocular Dripper, becoming part of the rhythm that made the booth feel so alive.
A simple reminder that good coffee has always been about people first.
كان جناح Squeaky يحمل ذلك النوع من الطاقة التي تجد نفسك تنجذب لها بشكل طبيعي.
القهوة تُقدَّم باستمرار.
أشخاص يتبادلون الأفكار.
وحوارات تدور من كل زاوية حول محطة التحضير.
وفي وسط كل ذلك، كانت @mariam.erin تحضّر القهوة باستخدام الـ Binocular Dripper، لتصبح جزءاً من الإيقاع الذي جعل الجناح مليئاً بالحياة.
تذكير بسيط بأن القهوة الجيدة كانت دائماً مرتبطة بالناس أولاً.

Meka x Squeaky x Friends 👩🏻🚀👨🏻🚀👨🚀👩🚀
Many people may still wonder 👉🏻what exactly is “Meka”?
In Thailand, many people know us as Meka.Coffee
an importer of specialty coffee equipment from around the world into Thailand.
On the other side, the global coffee community knows us as Squeaky
a Thai brand creating problem-solving coffee tools
and sharing them with baristas around the world.
Usually, when we exhibit internationally, we go under the name Squeaky.
But for World of Coffee Bangkok, we thought for a long time about where Meka should belong.
In the end, we decided to bring both names together in one booth.
Because this is our home,
and this event brings together both our Thai coffee friends
and friends from all around the world.
Thank you to everyone who visited our booth.
Thank you to all our coffee friends who joined our Take Over Bar.
And thank you to everyone who became part of this moment.

Squeaky is looking for 2 Japanese coffee people to join our booth at SCAJ this October.
We are looking for two Japanese team members who can communicate in English and are available to work with us for all 3 days of the event.
Requirements:
* Japanese nationality or native Japanese speaker
* Able to communicate in English
* Experience in making espresso
* Experience in hand drip / pour-over coffee
* Available to work at the Squeaky booth for 3 full days during SCAJ
This role will involve helping us welcome visitors, brew coffee, explain products, and support booth activities.
