We had a fantastic time this past Saturday at the annual Derby Party in support of @squareonespringfield Square One.
For nearly 10 years, Alekman DiTusa has been proud to support an organization that makes such a meaningful impact in the community. Events like this are a great reminder of how important it is to come together, to give back, and support the work being done for children and families.
Our team had a fabulous time enjoying the event together, connecting with others, and celebrating for this great cause. We are grateful to be part of such a special evening and for this community.

Our Square One Workforce Development youth are proudly participating in Martin Luther King Family Services’ annual HBCU College Tour, an exciting and transformative milestone in their academic and career journeys.
Over the past three months, our youth have been intentionally preparing for this experience by attending a series of local workshops hosted at colleges throughout the Springfield area and surrounding communities. These sessions provided valuable insight into key areas such as financial aid navigation, campus life, career exploration, and potential employment pathways aligned with their chosen majors. In addition, participants strengthened their financial knowledge through engaging in financial literacy workshops led by Dawn Creighton of Liberty Bank .
This tour offers our youth the opportunity to visit and experience the rich history, culture, and academic excellence of several prestigious Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), including:
Alabama State University
Tuskegee University
Spelman College
Morehouse College
Clark Atlanta University
North Carolina Central University
Shaw University
Norfolk State University
Through this seven-day experience, our youth will gain firsthand exposure to campus environments, connect with current students and faculty, and envision themselves thriving in higher education.
This journey will empower our youth to make informed decisions about their futures with confidence and purpose.
Last week, our Workforce Development students and staff had an incredible opportunity to attend a Boston Red Sox game at Fenway Park!
A huge thank you to our friends at the Boston Red Sox and the Red Sox Foundation for giving our youth such an amazing experience.
We also want to thank Peter Pan Bus Lines for helping make the trip possible for our youth and staff. Even better—the Red Sox brought home the win to top off an already unforgettable day at Fenway!
