First up, thanks to James over at @squaredevilgames for sending us this copy. In Gold Hustle, you get the chance to claim a fortune by reading your opponent’s plans to acquire gold from an abundant river using townsfolk and lawbreakers from your hand of cards. Played over 10 rounds a river card is flipped and the number shown determines the amount of gold the river reveals this round. Players then simultaneously choose a card from their hand to play. Once chosen all cards are revealed and the gold is either taken, moved, shared, or SWAPPED! This is where the FUN starts! 🔫 Some cards can see you take a lot of gold, other cards can BLOCK these cards and you get nothing while watching other prospectors prosper! OUTLAWS can take all the gold from the river OR the hideout if you’re the only outlaw card played otherwise you’ve wasted a good card for nothing. A DEPUTY card also blocks an OUTLAW making picking the right MOMENT to play good cards critical. And there’s a key word for what this game delivers! Lots of MOMENTS: Hilarious Frustrating Joyous Painful Unbelievable Game changing Skillful Deceptive Inspired Etc… It’ll all play out here as you play one card thinking your gold pile is about to grow immensely but the timing of cards (yes they all cleverly trigger in a certain order) sees you end up with less than you had before the round started. It’s fun to try and second guess your opponent’s and thankfully you’re helped as you can see the cards players have already played but if like me, you end up second guessing yourself, you’ll end up seeing your fortune dwindle fast. It’s fabulous fun really. Appealing to look at with great artwork and beautiful components. Easy to learn and ADDICTIVE. One game will not be enough! 🙋🏻‍♂️🙋🏻‍♀️ we recommend it! #goldhustle #boardgames #cardgame

Gold Hustle from @squaredevilgames (Gifted) 👥2-5 ⏰15 🧑‍🧒10+ In Gold Hustle you want to acquire the most gold. Set out the hideout along with a river deck created based on player count. All players receive an identical hand of 7 characters. Each round draw a river card and add gold based on its value. If a raid is drawn players discard gold to the hideout based on the number of their characters in play. Next all players pick one character from their hand and place it out facedown. Once everyone has selected they are all revealed and their actions resolved based on its number with the lowest numbered character being resolved first. Characters have all sorts of effects which usually include taking gold from the river, hideout or other players along with cards that block actions and ones that allow you to collect your played cards so you can use them again. At the end of the round if any gold is left on the river it is equally shared between players whose characters had the gold symbol at the bottom and any left over gold is placed into the hideout. Play continues for 10 rounds at which point the player with the most gold wins. Gold Hustle is fast, simple to learn with fun swindling card play. Its high risk gameplay has you trying to mind meld with the other players. You can really push your luck which when coupled with informed choices using your knowledge of the cards already played leads to these wonderfully brutally epic turns where you can swoop in and steal a ton of gold. The player interaction is high as you need to pay close attention to the other players moves so you can ensure you play your best cards at times when you know they will pay off. Reading the other players and reacting to what you think they might do is so much fun and it’s clever how the 7 cards can all work together to create fun mind games and trickery. This all leans into the theming so well as you gamble and steal as much gold as you can before the game ends. Overall, A cutthroat, push your luck game with clever card play that keeps you risking it all right to the very end.

Not so long ago I was sent a copy of a game called Gold Hustle from @squaredevilgames and I wasn't sure what to expect. Honestly it didn't feel or look like my kind of game but my instincts are often wrong on this front and once again my gamedar was well off yet again. I first took it over to @hollyproperly who took immediate offence at the multiple uses of the word nuggets in the instructions. Once we were over that though we were away and what we found was a clever, quick and most of all addictive game of cunning hand play. The setting is the Wild West and the mountains have sent gold down river. Your job is to pan as much gold as possible into your personal pile before the end of the game. This is achieved by playing cards from identical decks, revealing your turn choice simultaneously each round. Each card portrays a different character who affects the gamestate in a different way. A few let you collect some gold, some let you steal it from your opponents, some block your opponents actions; you get the idea. Played cards stay on the table so everyone can see who is left in your posse to play although one of your cowpokes can scoop all the other ones back into your hand. This turned out to be a lot more tactical and enjoyable than I first anticipated. I have to say that I really enjoyed the river cards that are revealed each turn. I understood that they would inform us how much gold was washed down that turn or if there were some special effects that turn. What I didn't expect was for them to create a lovely plateau of the valley which was also really pleasing. At two players it was really fun and demanded more plays but with more peeps it got quite exciting and demanded a bit more chaotic thinking. I am looking forward to taking it to Games Day at the weekend and seeing what the peeps there think of it. Generally though it's a fast action, rootin' and a tootin' slice of the West that takes five minutes to learn but will take up a fair amount of table time. Thanks very much to the squared devil games team for sending it to me, I am very glad that you did. Happy Monday Much Love

It’s time for another #firstimpressionsfriday🎲, hosted by @nerdygirlgaming . This week I’m featuring Gold Hustle from @squaredevilgames Players: 2-5 Age: 14+ (I think probably 10+ could handle this if they are used to gaming strategies) Time: 15mins Firstly - I need to say, I love this game! I’ve started taking it with me to meet-ups and game evenings; it’s always been well received by every group I play it with and everyone loves the ‘real’ gold nuggets - so much better than just cardboard! Gold Hustle is an interactive push your luck game where you’re trying to win the most gold. You play character cards from your hand to take gold from central reserves (the river or hideout), steal gold from your opponents, swap your gold stashes, replenish your hand with played cards, or block an opponent’s action. Everyone has the same set of characters so the strategy is knowing when to take each action and how long to leave it before attempting to steal an opponent’s stash without them being able to block you. It’s fast paced, with an excellent ‘take that’ element that will have everyone demanding a rematch to get revenge! The only thing I would change is I would love to be able to play this at a higher player count for extra chaos, not sure if it would work, but it would be fun trying! 🤣 This game is perfect for an ice breaker at the start of games night, or for playing in groups at cons or meets; it will be a game bag staple for me from now on. This game was gifted to me for review purposes, I will be buying additional copies for sure, this is a great game to gift! #firstimpressionsfriday🎲 #goldhustle #goldhustlegame #cardgame #gamesnight

Board & Adored: Off the Shelf – Week 6 📦💜 A quieter week for me this time around. After HandyCon and a very busy week, I definitely needed a bit of a rest. I also played Flip Chess, but a friend who loved it has borrowed my copy, and I finally got Horrified to the table for the first time — which I really enjoyed! 🎲✨ What did you get off the shelf this week? 👇👇 #boardwithlevii #offtheshelfthisweek #tabletop #weeklyroundup game

📸 First Impressions Friday 📸 ✨Happy Friday! 💃This week I’m talking about Gold Hustle by @squaredevilgames . This game was gifted to me for review purposes but all opinions are my own. ✨ Overview ✨ Gold Hustle is a Wild West themed card game where you are aiming to collect the most gold from the river, playing character cards at the right time to maximise the gold you gain. 🎲 Gameplay 🎲 Simultaneously each player chooses a character card to play from their identical sets of cards. The characters allow you to gain gold in some way. Sometimes you can steal from others, sometimes you split the gold and some characters take it all. Some cards will only activate if you are the only player to play that card and some cards block other cards from happening. At the end of the round the chosen card stays out in front of you and you have to choose a different card, meaning all players can see what cards you have left to play. There is a card that allows you to pick up all your played cards. 💭First Impressions💭 This is a really fun quick filler card game. Trying to work out what your opponents will play and how to react, or working out if they know your plan and are going to ruin that, it’s great. It was super easy to learn and the setup is minimal. It’s quick to play too, you can get a game played in about 10 minutes. The production quality is really high, the gold nuggets are lovely and the art on the cards is vibrant and fun. There is a lot of player interaction, and while this was still fun at two players I think it will definitely shine even more at a higher player count, and be even more chaotic. 💜 If quick card games with high player interaction and a little bit of strategy is your thing, then I would definitely recommend you checking this one out. #firstimpressionsfriday hosted by @nerdygirlgaming

⭐️⭐️⭐️Gold Hustle ⭐️⭐️⭐️ by @squaredevilgames is a fast, punchy card game all about reading your opponents and getting inside their heads. Every round is a tense guessing game as you try to predict what card others will play — and that tension never lets up. It’s exciting, a little chaotic, and brilliant fun when a win is stolen at the last second… or heartbreakingly snatched from you when you least expect it. It really shines at 3–4 players, where the mind games and momentum feel just right. Quick to play, easy to learn, and full of those did not see that coming moments 🎲💥 #boardwithlevii #boardgames #cardgames #tabletop #review

Well, howdy partner, welcome to #FirstImpressionsFriday organised by @nerdygirlgaming and we've been playin' Gold Hustle by @squaredevilgames yee-haw!! It's a fast-paced, bluffing card game for 2-5 players. Over 10 rounds, players compete with each other to try and get the most gold by the end of the game. Each turn a card from the central river is turned over and gold nuggets equal to the value of that card are placed on it. Each player then picks a card and simultaneously resolves the card's powers from lowest value to highest. Powers range from sharing the gold on the river at the end of the turn, moving all the gold to the hideout, stealing another player's gold or picking up the cards you've played in previous rounds, as once they're played, they can't be played again. 👇 F I R S T I M P R E S S I O N S 👇 🤠 The game feels similar to Duel For Cardia, only expanded to include more players 🤠 The theme is fun and works well with what you're trying to do. The gold nuggets are really eye-catching and provide a good focal point 🤠 The artwork brings a modern twist to western characters, which we thought was nice and a little different from the norm 🤠 The powers are nice and varied. It's a game that rewards you for taking note of what other players have played so that you can plan your moves effectively. It's satisfying to block an opponent's card when you've correctly worked out what they're going to play. 🤠 At 2 players I have reservations about how The Gambler works. It steals all gold from an opponent, meaning the game hinges on trying to get the Gambler to fire in the last couple of rounds. If you do, you win. If not, you lose (I mean, it is a gamble after all). This feels like it might be better at higher player counts, at 2 we did house-rule its power 🤠 It's very accessible, the cards are clear and the powers are easy to understand. Overall, Gold Hustle is a rootin’ tootin’, light card game that we'll definitely play more of, it’s a lot of fun. We want to try it with more players, as it has the potential to be quite chaotic with lots of interaction between players. - S Gold Hustle was #gifted to us for review by @squaredevilgames
