Moving through the 'shadows of the city', these dogs embody a poignant metaphor for the song's layered emotionality, portraying a state of being 'so close yet so far'. Filmed across 14 days in late summer, Kuo adopts a documentary approach to follow the daily lives of stray dogs amidst Taipei's industrial landscape. Rather than evoking pity, the film frames their existence in a natural state.

This song was written to accentuate the peace that comes with the moment before sunrise. Whether it’s a breath of fresh air before the workday starts, a breath of release at the end of a long evening, or, in a more symbolic sense, the dawn of new beginnings and of seeing the world in a new light, ‘Dawn’ is a very powerful time in this world.
I’d love to thank everyone involved with this project. It’s been such a joy to make this story come to life, and getting to finally work with Anna and her team on the video was an absolute treat!

Mérida is occupied by Coca Cola somehow, you see the brand name everywhere, in markets on pieces of furniture, even tarps are taken over by the brand. Sun shines through the red tarp harshening its heat, making you need a cold drink and guess what’s the only kind of drink they have, Coca Cola.

At 5am my lens fogged up from the temperature change from my room to the balcony, which quickly evaporated but gave a palpable sense of humidity. You can see the difference when the video replays.
