The Chaten Home broke the record for the highest sale cost per square foot in Carefree. Also, in Cave Creek if excluding equestrian properties.
Thoughtful design sells!
Clients often ask us about resale. How many garage bays are good for resale, how many tubs, casita or no casita. However, the Chaten Home breaks many of these rules, no casita, two car garage. We focused attention on design, details, minimalism. The property offered an extraordinary view of Black Mountain and we wrapped the home around that view.
When discussing resale, nothing beats imaginative design solutions that come from working closely with the clients, studying the property and working with amazing craftsman.

The Kimbrough Home is a 4,600-square-foot energy-efficient modern custom residence located in Scottsdale Mountain. The home is built using 12” thick ICF blocks for all exterior walls and carefully designed to respond to its dramatic desert surroundings, with expansive mountain views.
The home’s H-shaped floor plan organizes key living spaces around a central outdoor courtyard on the west, creating a private outdoor living space. The living room, dining room, kitchen, primary suite, and junior suite all open directly to this outdoor living area, allowing for a seamless flow between interior and exterior. Extensive floor-to-ceiling glazing throughout the home frames the surrounding desert landscape, while deep roof overhangs provide shade.
In addition to its 4 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms, the Kimbrough Home includes a dedicated office, recreation room, and 3-car garage, making it a versatile design for both daily living and entertaining. With a focus on clean lines, open volumes, and material simplicity.

The boulder installation for the water feature at the entrance to the Blackburn Home in Carefree, Arizona designed by Pamela Lastiri!
These three stones range from 4 tons to over 6 tons each. They are the anchor to the water features design, visible from both outside and inside via a large unobstructed window that ties the boulders to the living space.
