My current state reflects the progress of this project so far. After over 400 hours of trial and error, including wins and failures, along with two days of sanding and glueing, Izat’al, the Dragon Empress, is ready to be painted. I can't tell if that excites or terrifies me. This will be the last update until at least the new year. I have set a rule and goal: I am not allowed to paint it until I have completed any pending deadlines, such as Dnd minis and gifts for friends, to motivate myself to clear the shelf of shame. 🐉

Barroth is a Large Monster in Monster Hunter World (MHW). ボルボロス (土砂竜) in Japanese. Barroth is a formidable brute wyvern and has a penchant for seeking ants, which are their favorite snack. A Barroth likes to mark its territory with mud and this is one of the toughest challenges that Hunters will face because of its thick armor and mud-covered attacks.
The Barroth is a unique monster that is weak to 2 elements but not at the same time. Mud is one of the Barroth properties that allow it to have differing immunity and weaknesses. When it’s covered with mud, it becomes weak to water, without Mud, the Barroth becomes weak to mhw fire damage. Its resistances is also reversed depending on his status. When it’s covered with mud, it becomes immune to fire damage and without mud, it becomes immute Water. Aside from these two, the Barroth is also immune to Thunder regardless of other conditions.
The Tobi-Kadachi spends most of its days moving about is spacious territory among the treetops of the Ancient Forest and is rarely seen on the ground. Moving about the forest this way is beneficial to Tobi-Kadachi, as rubbing its body against trees allows it to build up static electricity in its fur. The monster’s physical prowess and acrobatic skill make it possible to live a lifestyle that would make otherwise be very difficult in a dense forest habitat. Its speed and agility are unmatched by any monster in the Ancient Forest.
A master tree climber like Tobi-Kadachi is made even more stealthy thanks to the gliding webbing located between its fore and hind legs. When moving about or hunting prey, the webbing masks the sound of its movements, letting it dart silently along the very edges of its prey’s vision before moving in for the kill.

A Mimic Knight is a masterclass in biological deception. It is what happens when a mimic a creature traditionally limited to stationary objects evolves to understand that the most dangerous thing in a dungeon isn’t a treasure chest, but the person who opens it.
The heavy iron boots of Sir Alistair didn’t clank; they squelched.
Deep in the Sunken Grotto, Alistair was the picture of a noble paladin shining plate armor, a crimson plume, and a shield bearing the crest of a rising sun. The only problem was that Sir Alistair had been digested three weeks ago.
The creature now wearing the armor was a Mimic named Gnash. Gnash didn’t want to be a wooden chest anymore; chests got kicked by drunk barbarians. Knights, however, were respected. People gave them free rooms at inns and didn’t try to bash their lids in with crowbars.

King of the skies, Rathalos. This was my first-ever entry for @squidmarminiatures competition. I used this challenge as motivation to finally paint a miniature I’d been postponing for months because I felt I wasn’t ready to take on such a cool model. I soon realized that waiting for perfection isn’t necessary—what matters is having fun and learning along the way. Now I have a awesome miniature as a reminder that perfection isn’t the goal, and that’s perfectly fine.
