Some art is meant to be seen — Nick Perez’s work is meant to be experienced. Through a partnership between @cltfive , @cltiscreative , @springcleanglobal , and @boguesgroup , the Extra Squeeze Grant was created to spotlight individuals making a meaningful impact in our community — plus provide funding, branding, and more to support their vision. This month’s winner is Nick Perez, a Charlotte-based visual artist and media producer whose mural at McGill Rose Garden blends whimsical storytelling with thoughtful design. Inspired by Alice in Wonderland and expressive color, the piece includes textured elements that allow blind and visually impaired visitors to engage with the work through touch. We’re proud to support Nick as he brings this meaningful, inclusive project to life in a space that has long been part of his story. I’m pleased to share that I have been awarded a H.U.G. grant, which I will be using to support a vendor event for Juneteenth 2026. The funding will go toward producing posters, stickers, and T-shirt prints for the event.
