So late to post this. My performance at @amant.arts @spring_broken said "I want to make your dream come true." I had a dream when I wrote this song for our Gang Gang album in 2016. When I was in the space I had Deja Vu. It was the space be in my dream. The stairs, everything. Brian DeGraw from Gang Gang gave me the stems to our song that never came out. Dana, my dear friend mixed the song down so I could perform it. @vorheesmusic so many years of everything together. Thank you to @spring_broken you 🌹@arianakalliga and Tobi for making this happen. 12 minutes of bliss #ganggangdance #arabique I want to thank the girls. They remind me of our tribe in the late 90's. Of me young in New York climbing on cars , squatting in Chelsea, playin the streets in long gowns @womens_history_museum Crazy about you. Crazy Crazy about you. Love you @joshdiamondz I am wearing @womens_history_museum which their amazing exhibition closed that thay evening. The admiration is very very real.

Looking back at this special book launch in February! Thrilled to have contributed to @womens_history_museum ’s first monograph, published by @amant.arts . Conceived as a hybrid between an exhibition catalogue and a fashion lookbook, the publication comprises newly commissioned texts alongside illustrated spreads that reference iconic precedents, from Japanese fashion house Matsuda’s 1990s lookbooks to the body-paint photographs in “Veruschka: Trans-figurations,” a 1986 photobook with an introduction by Susan Sontag. To coincide with their first institutional exhibition in the U.S. at Amant, the artists collaborated with musician and fashion photographer Wera Nowak to develop photographs shot on a medium-format film camera within the exhibition & across different locations in New York City. The publication’s pages are also punctuated by lo-fi camcorder stills by WHM documenting the Grisette à l’enfer exhibition at Amant. The publication includes an introduction by curator Patricia Margarita Hernández (@spring_broken ) and myself, with newly commissioned texts by historian Patricia Tilburg and writers Fiona Alison Duncan and Edna Adan. The real joy ~ collaborating with the writers, Wkshps @wkshps @chrischwu who designed this publication and working with @spring_broken , @casparschwarzwald , Aryn Beitz & everyone involved in the making of the publication. Thank you to Mattie & Amanda @womenshistorymuseum , this has been a joy 🧵🐀💖 Photo 1: February 13, 2026, performance by Lizzi Bougatsos (@baby_seal777 ) during the WHM book launch/exhibition closing reception. Thank you to everyone who joined us on Friday, January 16, 2026 for Flooding the delicate membrane, an evening of readings by Zoe Brezsny, Jungmin Cho, Rachel James, and Lucy Ives, introduced by Mimosa Echard (@mimosaechard ) 📖 Taking place within the exhibition space, the readings formed a dialogue with the chemical and symbolic transformations that mark the artist’s work. They ranged from a series of new poems by Zoe Brezsny (@zbrezsny ) reflecting themes of ambient paranoia and material transformation, ongoing research by Jungmin Cho (@nowherejmc ) on disposability and desire, an essay titled “Of Unicorns” by Lucy Ives (@l_cy_v_s ) on connections between and among femininity, purity, collective violence, and the history of the unicorn, to an exploration of Bertolt Brecht’s The Measures Taken, Silvia Federici, and our relationship to collectivity by Rachel James (@a_snails_tomb ). Drawing from past and new work, the readings teased out the invisible structures that underwrite our attachments to objects and to one another. 🎥 View the full archived reading on our website under Archive: /archive/media 🔗 Join us for the next reading with @mutt.nyc on Friday, January 30 in Amant’s bookstore. RSVP through the link in bio. #AmantNY

✨ A year in review - 2025✨
In 2025 we celebrated 20 years of Bas Fisher Invitational — two decades of artist-led experimentation, collaboration, and community. We also continued our beloved WEIRD MIAMI tours, uncovering the city’s hidden histories and strange magic with artists and audiences along for the ride. To everyone who showed up, participated, supported, and believed in this work: we’re endlessly grateful. Looking ahead to 2026 👀
Stay tuned for Video Drive By at the Miami Beach Bandshell, launching with Marisa Olson, currently on view and featuring upcoming works by Aaron Young and Becca Albee. Happy New Year from all of us at BFI 🖤✨ A special thank you to the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, the Andy Warhol Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs, the Florida Council of Arts and Culture and the State of Florida, the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs and the Cultural Affairs Council, the Miami-Dade County Mayor and Board of County Commissioners, the City of Miami Beach, Cultural Affairs Program, Cultural Arts Council, The Rauschenberg Foundation, The Jorge M.
