Kimberly Kelly’s Show Dog Nashville debut album released last year, “I’ll Tell You What’s Gonna Happen” is more than her (abbreviated) album title, more than a reference to her connection with a Country Music Hall of Famer, and much more than a historical footnote. Rather, it’s a statement of musical confidence earned the only way that happens: talent, work ethic, experience, vulnerability, and courage. For Kelly, it’s all of a piece. “I like to think of it as a sub-genre of country music called ‘country music,’” she says with a wink.

Zach Pietrini’s Midwestern, indie Americana songwriting aesthetic is the sonic embodiment of a well-worn denim jacket. At the forefront of the Americana resurgence, Pietrini takes an everyman’s approach to the genre with a knack for honest storytelling and a wistfulness that comes across in both the music and lyrics with songs “situate him at the confluence of all that an urban Millennial audience finds relatable” (Milwaukee Magazine), performing old-soul themes of ennui, regret, disappointment, and nostalgia with a modern twist.
Always grateful to have a @mikethomasband full band show! These guys are the real deal. Are they Americana? Sure - if that’s what you want to call it. Are they Country - they sure are - some of that red dirt real good southern rock sounding country. Whatever category you lump them in - first and foremost it’s GOOD MUSIC. And use whatever genre descriptor you try to squeeze in the middle there. Just be sure to see them live & stream the heck out of them when you can’t. #theMTBand #mikethomasband #livemusic #liveband #nashvillecountrymusic
Always thankful to have @brontefall share her original songs on our stage - especially the NEW ones! Be sure to check out her new single (and music video) for ONE MORE DAY!
Stacy Antonel (and Paul!) helped us kick off Thursday night with some vintage jazzy country modern Americana songs! We love when she plays all of our favorites!
☀️THURS JUNE 20☀️FREE SHOW!
Stacy Antonel makes jazzy, country-leaning, clever Americana that feels both vintage and hyper-modern at the same time. Her throwback “country jazz” style conjures the 20s-30s musical era when jazz and country weren’t such disparate genres. There’s a complex, conversational quality to her lyrics, reminiscent, paired with the effortless, emotive vocals. Antonel’s Americana debut “Always the Outsider” features compelling, narrative storylines, agile vocal melodies, and unexpected thematic twists. The unique collection explores metaphysical and supernatural concepts (alien-earthling romance, past-life trauma) as well as grounded narratives of everyday experience (isolation, disconnectedness, sexual desire, feeling like an alien in your own body) in Antonel’s distinctively jazzy style.

After releasing two EPs Teri Bracken as Brontë Fall is rolling out her first full length album - one she wanted to be as authentic and raw as possible. “In the past I was trying too hard or trying to be too different from who I actually am.” That philosophy is reflected on singles including “Making It Up” and “One More Day.” Still, for Bracken, there’s nothing better than this life, standing firmly on this world she’s created, proud of the little wins and big victories that make her career the most fulfilling gig on Earth. “Piece by piece I’m creating the life I want/ It might not be the right way, but I’m not gonna stop. I’m making it up as I go.” This life may be unpredictable, but Teri Bracken is one helluva improviser.

After walking away from music for ten plus years to start a family and a small business, Mike Thomas got back into the swing of things in 2018, when he met producer, Tres Sasser, who convinced him to begin writing and recording again. The two have since recorded a pair of albums together - the self-released “Three Reasons” and “Diamonds” both recorded in Franklin, TN w/members of Thomas’ regular backing band and a few special guests. “Diamonds” has received widespread critical acclaim from publications like Wide Open Country, Americana Highways, The Boot, The Bluegrass Situation, Glide Magazine and more.
