Our Meet our charity partner series, shines a light on the charities we’re proud to support through our five year partnerships, focused on long term funding for lasting impact. Next up: @sporteduk a national charity providing free capacity-building support to help grassroots sports organisations not just survive, but thrive. 🎾 What has the partnership made possible❔ Our partnership focuses on the Highlands and Lancashire, enabling more tailored support for local sports clubs. This includes support with funding, governance, and volunteer recruitment - helping clubs become more resilient and continue delivering vital opportunities where access is limited. 💬 “We aren't just funding sessions; we are building a resilient network that ensures no young person is sidelined by their postcode.” - Stuart Nichols, Sported Network Coordinator Why does this matter now❔ This work comes at a critical time. In the Highlands, 50% of children live in the most access-deprived areas in Scotland. Alongside rising child poverty and declining physical activity - particularly among girls - local clubs offer essential support for mental wellbeing and connection. When anxiety takes a young person out of school, where do they go next? At just 16, Iona stopped attending school due to severe anxiety. Life became isolating and difficult to navigate. Everything changed when she found Eat Sleep Ride 🐴 - a grassroots organisation supported by Sported. In a safe and supportive environment, she began to rebuild her confidence and reconnect with the world around her. 💬 “Being around the horses gives me a sense of calm and safety, and over time my confidence began to grow.” Her story is a powerful reminder that grassroots sport and activity groups don’t just support physical wellbeing - they create safe spaces that support mental health, too 🧠 But too many young people are still missing out on this kind of support. 👉 Visit the link in our bio to find out how you can support grassroots organisations creating change like this. #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek #MentalHealthMatters #GrassrootsSport #CommunitySport #SportForGood #YouthMentalHealth #MentalWellbeing #SocialImpact #SafeSpaces #ChangeThroughSport

🚨 The latest Community Pulse shows a dramatic shift: mental health challenges among young people in grassroots sport have risen from 29% to 74% in just one year. This isn’t just about sport. It’s about everyday wellbeing, belonging, and support. Grassroots clubs are already stepping up by providing safe spaces, trusted relationships, and vital mental health support alongside physical activity. But they can’t do it alone. As we mark Mental Health Awareness Week 🧠, we’re reminded that investing in sport is also investing in mental health. 👉 Support grassroots sport and the communities changing lives every day. 🏃‍♀️ The Boston Marathon takes place today - one of the most iconic races in the world. In 1967, Katherine Switzer became the first woman to run an official marathon, entering Boston under her initials just to be allowed on the start line. Today, women make up nearly a third of marathon runners globally (runABC) - but barriers in sport still remain. Our Pulse Report shows that 55% of women and girls say lack of confidence prevents them taking part in sport, highlighting that participation isn’t just about access - it’s about belief, opportunity and belonging. At Sported, we work with grassroots organisations across the UK to break down these barriers and create more inclusive opportunities for women and girls. 👉 To support this work and help create more equal opportunities in sport, visit the link in our bio. #BostonMarathon #WomenInSport #KatherineSwitzer #GrassrootsSport #SportForAll #Sported

@ardsfcacademy welcomed girls from the local community to find their football home, thanks to funding in partnership with @sporteduk as part of our Be Seen, Be Heard, Belong Campaign. The goal is to encourage girls to get involved and stay in football as they grow up whilst also being a part of something bigger with team mates to flourish both on and off the pitch. They are welcoming girls who are trying football for the first time or those looking to find a new club. #BeSeenBeHeardBelong #PowerOfSport
