5 years ago we walked into @anthonyaidenopticians . We showed Anthony our first product, Hangover Glasses.
He tore them up, but then taught us — hinge integrity, lens purpose, how do they sit on the nose — the details of a special frame.
Two weeks ago we walked back into the shop. He didn't remember us. We showed him our new glasses. Dead silence.
He tested the hinges, looked at the finishes, and said, “Is this all you got?”
We replied, “It’s all you need.”
“We only buy collections.”
“Spontane is about versatility and this is our take. One frame for every situation.”
He looked at them again. Eventually he said, “I can make them better.”
And he did. He added Photochromatic lenses — clear inside, dark in the sun, a subtle tint with a blue light coat.
Now we’ve got something pretty good.
