MUSEUM MONDAY - The Snurfers
Obviously inspired by the original Snurfer from 1967, these are all from the snowboard boom of the early 80's.
- 1980 Variflex Snow Slider; NOS with original box and poster that would hang in a department or sporting goods store
- 1980s Coleco; Hollow injected plastic, more of a toy than a tool, but very popular around New England backyards of the Era
- 1981 Snurfer Racing Model; the "Snurfer" brand changed hands in 1980 and toy brand JEM made a few runs of these before giving up on them in 1983
- 1980s Novak Pro Comp 48; Made from clear plexiglass this thing is so cool, but very heavy. Bob Novak, who shaped many of the early Burton boards, continued making this style of snurfer all the way into the 2010's
Skate bench is back up front! New decks, trucks and wheels are stocked, shoes are slowly filling in.
This song was used in heavy skate and snow videos back in the day - Name the skater or rider that rode to this song and win a shop tee!
