It all began on July 31st, 2023. Toyosi (the groom-to-be) & I first chatted proposals. But letâs just say, planning got a little...intense. Amanda (the bride-to-be) & I had a similar chat. Surprises are our specialty, âwhen its time for that, i promise you it would be NEXT LEVELâ I said to her.
September rolled in, and I casually dropped the âwhenâs the questionâ bomb on Toyosi. Planning began... easy, right? WRONG! Turns out, exchange rates were playing games, Inflation threw a major curveball! Amandaâs amazing sister swooped in and saved the day, helped us to buy the STUNNING diamond and sapphire beauty straight from Dubai!
But the real challenge wasnât the ring (although, shoutout to Amandaâs amazing taste!). It was finding the perfect time!
Busy schedules + meticulous planning = proposal delays galore! Between Decemberâs event rush and Februaryâs obvious cheesiness (sorry, Valentineâs Day!), finding the perfect moment became an epic quest.
Letâs be honest, planning a proposal for your super-detailed friends is intense! Between outfit decisions, firework debates, and Toyosiâs 5AM text messages about violinist quality (seriously, Toyosi!), we almost planned a wedding instead! Fireworks..Song choices⊠Outfits⊠Screen projections.. Decor... Freezing these momentsâŠ
FINALLY, we were ready!
Operation âGet Amanda to the Venueâ was a masterpiece. A âFake Fundraiserâ with her cousin, a nail appointment voucher from Toyosi that came in handy days before the proposal... it was foolproof!
Amanda walked in expecting to network, little did she know, she was about to embark on her forever journey with Toyosi.(Special thanks to Anu, our undercover cousin, for the perfect distraction!)
Now, the flowers! Amandaâs seen it all, and I needed something special.
Red roses? Boring. White roses? đ„±.. Finally, after some back and forth, the florist (bless their soul!) created a stunning mix of dahlias and pink roses - perfect for Amandaâs personality and the theme! Picking the wrapper was also a deal.
