A recent event for Ottolenghi, which included a live demo from Yotam Ottolenghi (pinch me moments from the team!). We supported the launch of this new office building just off Oxford Street, with our front of house, cocktail bar and senior management team ✨
It is with profound sadness we learned of the passing of not just a member of our Splendid family, but one of life’s total legends, Rob Baxter.
Rob started with Splendid when he was just 17, a bright eyed, devastatingly handsome, dynamic full of energy top-lad and it all just clicked with him so easily, he was a bloody natural. He excelled wherever he went, every client begged for him back and with his incredible work ethic he blasted forward and became the first guy ever to tick off 1,000 events with us. The crazier the event, the more he wanted to do it, from the Olympics in Greece when he was just 18, to crazy half-naked parties in Mayfair, to even more bonkers weddings in India - he lived it, sweated it and loved it.
He was the guy at the end of every shift, who would raise one eyebrow and flash that cheeky grin and 20 mins later everyone he was working with was in some weird late night bar, dancing the night away. All the grainy pictures we have from back then have his famous smile jumping out from the shot, he was the absolute definition of that age old expression, the life and soul…
Rob was such a heartbreaker through and through, his charming character, twinkly eyes, contageous laugh, comedy stories and his ability to dance so effortlessly, would leave a trail of starry-eyed admirers wherever he went.
We are all feeling the loss of our dear friend, sending love and strength to Rob’s family, along with all his event and Splendid family.
Our events world shines a little bit less bright.

Merrium works full time for Splendid as a key member of our Senior Co-ordinator team, in London. Merrium has grown a lot during her time at Splendid, she is more confident and personable and is a very capable leader. Having worked over 500 events, she enjoys the diversity Splendid has to offer💫

Hannah currently working in our partner café, Mayvn, and also lends a hand with lots of other departments across Splendid when she can. Working over 125 shifts within the last year, Hannah has enjoyed experiencing events in many different, beautiful venues across Scotland. She loves the variety of shifts that Splendid provides and has made great friends along the way. We love to see new friendships blossoming on shift, friendships made at Splendid last a lifetime... just look at our two founders, for example!💫

Sage joined the London team whilst studying, since graduating they enjoy the flexibility that Splendid gives them to work on personal projects alongside a variety of shift patterns. Sage can be found in our London office, working with the Staffing team during our peak seasons, as well as regularly team leading or waiting on a multitude of our events across the capital.
Sage enjoys our close-knit team, they often run into the same people on shift and have naturally developed great friendships as a result.💫
