A collection of woodcut prints by Charles Spitzack that celebrates traditional craft through the age-old process of carving wood and printing by hand. The title nods to woodcut artist Antonio Frasconi, whose work reflects the constant motion of life and growth we are all part of, and continues to inspire me to this day.
These pieces were inspired by my travels through Port Townsend, brought about from @centrumresidencies and teaching at @northwindart_pt@northwindartschool

Explore how trees, water, sky, and terrain can be translated into bold, graphic compositions carved from woodblocks.
Over four weekly sessions, this class guides students through the full process of learning printmaking, from developing imagery and planning compositions to carving woodblocks and hand-printing finished prints. Emphasis is placed on creating a sense of depth, atmosphere, and place through the language of woodcut.
